I've watched Youri's goal every day since the final, often on repeat.

Not sure the buzz from that historic occasion will ever go away.

PS Conversely, and this is probably one for the 'unpopular opinions' thread, I haven't felt one twinge of anger about missing out on top four (again) since the end of the season.

You can't buy those memories.

Looking likely we'll not even get to go on a European tour anyway. So glad we won the cup, unbelievable day, will never ever forget it.

But when we look back in 10-20 years time we won’t have the top 4 trophy in the cabinet…

Something that Wenger lived off for about a decade 🤣

It's a generational thing. Some Millenials struggle to see its importance, and why would they given the way the competition has been treated this century (and before to an extent). Those of us older scared veterans, see it as the Holy Grail.

I was catching up with some long times mates yesterday, not City fans, and I think it's sunk in now. That empty slot on our honours board has been filled in and the debt that I've always felt the club owes me has been repaid in full.

FA Cup winners, Leicester City.

What is it that scares you?

Grew up with fa cup being a big thing, always wanted to win it, always seemed like the ‘big boys’ won it.

very honoured to witness us win all 3 domestic trophies in my lifetime. And I thought Walshy scoring against derby at Wembley was the best it would get :D

I’ve just watched the entire 1969 Cup Final for the first time since being there at Wembley , having been unable to bear it before .

This is interesting and I've had similar experiences.

The recent success we've had has made me much more at peace with the struggles from previous years. The 03/04 season was the really painful one considering how many leads we through away, but the great escape exorcised those demons for me. The FA Cup win just completes the process. Like you I've been enjoying going back and watching seasons the memories of which I had previously buried away.

Thank you for the post but I'd be just as happy watching this 500 times.

That's me watched it 500 times. It has helped the enormity of what it means to me, our club, the fans and the City sink in.

I can't express how much Leicester City FC are a massive part of my identity.  When I was clinically depressed and lost as a person Leicester City was one of my protective factors in preventing me from going under.

The stadium expansion is due to complete in 2024 which will also be 50 years since I attended my first game as a fresh faced 7 year old. I have seen a few low points and very dark days but my passion and loyalty has never changed. I celebrated goals away at Carlisle United,  Cheltenham and Hartlepool in League One with the same passion as I did in Premier League and Champions League games. There are exceptions of course like THAT 5-3, several 2016 games and, of course at Hereford away which effectively confirmed our promotion back to the Championship.

Claudio and Wes lifting the Premier league trophy, the Seviland game and Youri's goal are a tiny bit better that all, of course.

What next?
