This thread should have come with a poll.

Proud, as in "pwoud",  as Alex Ferguson would say it.

Or

Proud, as in Heather Small asking what have you done today to make me feel proud?

And before Wigan you have to go back to 1988 and Wimbledon.

People underestimate how rare it is for a club to come out of practically nowhere and challenge for major trophies.

I hope now we can all appreciate Tottenham’s struggles.

I'm immensely proud of what the club have achieved this season, and last, even if we end up fifth.

People can chuck around the angry, vitriolic 'bottlers/chokers/failures' tag as much as they like but this manager and squad have been magnificent for over two years, and even longer for the owners.

One day they may realise how lucky we are to be living through all this.

12/13 Deeney Play Off heartbreak

13/14 Championship winners, 102 points

14/15 PL survival, great escape

15/16 PL champions, the immortals

16/17 CL quarter finals

17/18 PL 9th place + both Cup quarter finals

18/19 PL 9th place + L Cup quarter finals

19/20 PL 5th + L Cup semi + FA Cup quarters

20/21 PL 5th (or better) + FA Cup winners + topped UEL group

This is amazing progress, especially for a club our size, in less than a decade.

I find it hard to fathom why folk can't try and enjoy it a bit more.

hear hear. :scarf:

I hadn’t really acknowledged how consistently strong our cup runs have been in recent years, that’s probably a huge sign of progression

Easily the best football club to support in recent years (recent for me means at least ten years). It's absolutely unbelievable jeff.

Because we got a lot of new fans during 15/16 and that's their benchmark?

Because the success we have had has made a lot of our fans self entitled.

Exactly - and there you have it.  Could you imagine the post match thread on FT after the Harlow FAC defeat?  New fans do not realize what us old fogies have endured and been through over decades.

Its been a fantastic season and you never know what my happen on Sunday.

It's mad how we have become in other fans' eyes too.

Working in a place with a broad mix of fans  - with me being the only Leicester fan - I sometimes feel like a celebrity with people rushing to find me to share the unbelievable unfolding story of Leicester City.

People always say how jealous they are and how much they respect what we're doing. It's been magnified a bit after the Super League fiasco too.

It does make you feel so proud.

What hurts the most is that if you look closely at the Everton game during the Bocelli signing and trophy lift, the camera pans around the crowd quite a bit and you can see some fans quite rightly in tears and in a state of high concentration.

Many though are face down bored on their phones, turned right around having a conversation oblivious to what's happening in front of them or just in general looking like they just didn't realise the importance of what they were witnessing in that moment.

That to me sums up the problem right there. New 'fans' that have probably been in the city for years but only chose to start going and experiencing football that season.

I would prefer to finish 3rd or 4th than 5th. However, having some perspective... as long as we again buy well, and keep our key players, we have next season to look forward too, and the big clubs will be in far more trouble, than previous seasons, as our squad becomes deeper with quality. If we can become an established top 4 team over the next 5 years we will break someone like a Chelsea or Liverpool, like we have Everton & West Ham for being top 6 contenders, and now Spurs & Arsenal for top 4. PROGRESSION :scarf:

Under Rodgers we've been consistently good. Consistency in Sport is what makes managers/players/teams great. A lot of managers/players have a one off season (see Sheffield United last season) but to do it consistently is key.

An FA Cup final win and two top 6 finishes (as well as a League Cup semi-final) is excellent.

Edit: I'd love us to go a seriously challenge the Europa League. Imagine the club winning a European trophy

As an overall observation, Yes top 6 is great. However the game by game consistency is the reason we are 5th and not better... We have had some very poor performances that cannot be accounted for & 7 Home defeats demonstrate an issue that needs to be overcome. I believe it to be key players missing and reserve players not being able to play at the very high level, the style of football BR wants to play, then the tactics become impotent. With further quality additions, this consistency should be better in the coming seasons, and this should be demonstrated in our league positions... :fc:

You're right, and the league table shows the sides in the right order come the end of the season, that's the point of a league table. I am disappointed we lost those home games, of course, but looking back at the time Villa were in good form (and have had a decent season) and both West Ham and Leeds have had good seasons. Each of those sides were better than us on the day, as were Arsenal. The Newcastle and Fulham defeats were the worse and it's those sort of games we don't want to be losing next season. Man City performance was shocking but I can accept losing to them.

This, This and This again. It’s  OK to be a bit disappointed if we don’t get Champions League it would have been fantastic hell we may still sneak it . But look at the progression we’ve made year on year  . As long as we keep improving that’ll do for me . Spurs were in the UEL for a couple of  years  running before becoming regulars in the  Champions League and as much as we don’t want to admit it our current squad isn’t good enough for it either .
