Kane wasn't great when he was here, for Van Aanholt certainly was class and i think we missed him in the following season in that position. Nathan Dyer was interesting only played like 4-5 games for the foxes, but out of it got a premier league medal. Just imagine instead of bringing in Jermaine Beckford in that window of 2011 we used the money to keep Yakabu at the club and had striker partnership of Yakubu and Nugent. Would have been much better partnership.

Dyer played 14 times for us on loan - 12 in PL, 2 in FA Cup although in the PL he never started once!

You have a very different recollection of van Aanholt than me.

I remember him being a total liability. People were screaming for both him and Bruma to be dropped as they were so poor and getting them in is what stunted our great start when Sven first came in.

Sven allegedly admitted he had to keep playing Bruma and van Aanholt though due to the loan contract with Chelsea.

In context, I highly rated Vitor, Cleverley, Keane, and Naughton, Kerrea Gilbert was quality as well, as others always say cant believe he fell away so badly

I’m surprised so many are saying Jesse Lingard from what I can remember he was abysmal . Was far too light weight back then and kept getting pushed of the ball . I could be  completely wrong but that’s how I remember it . I think he even got sent back or recalled early from  memory

Lingard was just okay. Certainly not the worst loanee we've ever had, but like you say he really needed to beef up. We've had a fair few come in and be like that - clearly with a hint of talent but uncultured in their play. Van Aanholt was another one - decent going forward but almost on Ryan McGivern levels of crap defensively at times.

I'm still convinced we signed a stunt double for Harry Kane. There's no other explanation for how that sack of spuds ended up becoming England's top striker.

To be fair to Kane, he was only about 19 when he was here on loan.

He was misused by Pearson. played out of  position on the wing and during a catastrophic free fall in form

Prior to us, I think it was Millwall kane was at and performed very well

Actually it just dawned on me that every time we've had someone called Ryan on loan at the back (Messrs. McGivern and Bennett), they've been crap.

For that reason, I cannot condone the supposed link to Bertrand.

Nobody remembers the 1990 triple loan of Terry Fenwick, Lawrie Madden and Mike Hooper? lol

Fvck me, we've come a long way.

Mike Hooper was awful, I remember when Wednesday smashed us at Filbert Street, for one goal, he held his hands up as to "leave it" and it went in

He also looked like Brian Tilsley from Coronation Street.

Christ yeah I’ve spent years trying to suppress that. We were awful then and every signing just seemed to make us worse.

God yes with you on that - 1990/91

season.

For rubbish I will raise you... Paul Kerr from the same season and David Langan and Kjetil Osvold from 1987/88

Paul Kerr was 1993/94, and scored a couple of crucial goals in the run-in that helped us secure a playoff spot.

Don't remember Paul Kerr and my first game was the season after the other 2!

I remember Paul Moran coming in at the same time as Kevin Campbell though, he was OK. Well, better than anything else we had at that time, aside from Gary McAllister.

Imagine how bad we'd have been without Gary Mac.
