People have mentioned Laurie Cunningham and Roberto Mancini.

May be wrong but was pretty sure they were permanent signings not loans, just short-term ones?

Mancini was definitely a loan. Couldn't say about Cunningham, before my time.

In terms of performances with us:

Fulop

Gilbert - Curtis Davies - Vitor - Mee - Naughton

Cleverley - Bruma (purely on that Watford game when he scored two belters) - Mark Davies

Yakubu - Bent

Honourable mention to Greg Cunningham who looked pretty tidy until his leg fell off.

In terms of how good they actually were/are at their best:

Stockdale (not a watertight shout I accept but he was very briefly one of the better keepers in the Championship so why not)

Naughton - Dragovic - Keane - Mee - van Aanholt

Cleverley - Fernandes

Lingard

Kane - Yakubu

I liked Marcus Bent, such a shrewd loan signing. Pretty sure he got double figures for us.

Yakubu too. Just supply and he'd score. Possible our best striker since Dickov at that time.

Naughton has to be in that first team

Anyone mentioned Mike Galloway yet?

I remember him being pretty good, but picking up a terrible injury.

Was it a car crash?

I’m pretty sure he was involved in a car crash at Dunton Bassett crossroads

Haha no problem. To be fair I have probably cheated by sneaking him in on the left

Personal ones that I was desperate to sign. Ben Mee, Curtis Davies, Marcus bent, fulhop, Mark Davies, Kyle naughton. (Can we add sir les and Esteban to that list as they were only on 1 year deals)

I was also so desperate for us to sign Waghorn, shame it didn’t go as planned.

For some reason the only thing my girlfriend knows about Harry Kane is he used to play for us. Considering she's not really into football, I find it fascinating that's the only fact she knows about him.

I then have to point out he was rubbish.

Every time.

I remember a Craig Shakespeare interview pre match in the 12/13 season where he was waxing lyrical about Kane having the best technique at the club. Struggling to find it anymore but it shows the foresight he and NP had.

Think Mancini was but Cunningham was a loan.

Don't remember Paul Kerr and my first game was the season after the other 2!

I remember Paul Moran coming in at the same time as Kevin Campbell though, he was OK. Well, better than anything else we had at that time, aside from Gary McAllister.

Imagine how bad we'd have been without Gary Mac.

Paul Moran has credibility just for making it 3-3 vs Leeds before McAllister’s winner in 1989; all after being 2-0

down at half time.

Fulop

Naughton

Dragovic

Keane

G.Cunningham

Dyer

Davies

Clevz

Fernandes

Yakubu

Kane

Completely based of appearances that I've seen. Kane was shocking mind was struggling there . Us not signing naughton still hurts even though he didn't go on to be much of a good player lol

I’ve not read the whole of the thread back but it looks like most people are just talking about the last few years, I’d have to add Kevin Campbell to the list, he basically scored the goals that kept us up that season about 30 years ago.

van Aanholt was terrible for us!

Kyle Naughton on the other hand was superb at the time and we certainly missed him.the following season.

I was convinced at the time that Kyle Naughton was better than Kyle Walker (comparison as Spurs signed them both from Sheff Utd).

Actually had the conversation during the playoff final.

Couldn’t have been more wrong in the end.

Is that because you spend the whole of the Leicester vs Spurs games shouting ‘Leicester reject!’ At the tele like the rest of us?

No, I just ask her to name which trophies he's won
