Just to let James Justin and Harvey B know that we are all hoping they are making good progress from their horrible injuries and will be back to their best before too long .

Just read that we signed JJ 2 years ago today - it’s unbelievable that such an athletic guy sustained his injury in such an innocuous way

Disagree. Seems more likely to happen to highly tuned athletes.

Barnes had kick about with a few of the lads today, Thomas Daley Campbell and hamza some of them judging by his Instagram post

Wouldn't be shocked to see a few be in

Interestingly our lack of players at the euros may be a benefit to us....

Next week I'd expect a fair few players to report back, only a handful wouldn't I'd imagine.

Iversen, VDC, Ricardo, Thomas, Bertrand, Justin (although not fit) Evans, Fofana, hamza, Soumare, KDH, Maddison, Barnes, vardy, daka, Sowah, albrighton, perez.

Which leaves mendy, amartey, wilf, kel, praet, youri, castagne, ward, kasper, cags to come back over the next few weeks.

I've probably missed some players but with a couple of additions that's a strong squad.

Timothy Castagne, James Justin, Papy Mendy, Jonny Evans – Leicester City injury update

Timothy Castagne will return to contention for Leicester City when a specialist mask arrives.

The Belgian full-back underwent lengthy facial surgery in late June after suffering a multiple fracture to his eye socket in a clash of heads at the Euros.

He has returned to City's training ground after a short holiday and his fitness is good, but he is currently undergoing work separate to the group.

Only when a protective face mask arrives will he rejoin contact training with his team-mates.

“He’s getting on very well,” manager Brendan Rodgers said on Castagne’s progress. “His cardio and everything else is at a very high level, we’re just waiting on a mask.

“He’ll wear a mask, certainly initially. We have to wait on that before he goes into contact training. But he’s back, he’s with the squad training, working well, but separate to the rest of the group at the moment.”

Castagne is one of four senior players currently out of action because of injury, with James Justin, Papy Mendy, and Jonny Evans also on the sidelines.

Justin is a long-term absentee after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament in February, and Rodgers is predicting a late autumn return for the full-back, who was a contender for player of the season last term until injury curtailed his campaign.

Mendy is currently sidelined with a groin issue picked up while representing Senegal in early June, while Evans is struggling with the foot problem that hampered him at the end of last season. A new centre-back could be targeted in the transfer window if he does not improve over the next week.

“James is progressing really well,” said Rodgers. “He’s doing a lot of strength-based work on his leg. He looks great. He just needs that little bit of time. There was maybe talk of around October or November for him, so we’ll see how that goes.

“Papy he had an injury away on international duty with Senegal. He came back with an issue around his groin. So the diagnosis was three to six weeks at the time of when he came back so he’s not training at the moment.”

He added: “(Evans' injury) is ongoing. He’s felt more comfort with it, but it’s one of those injuries that takes that little bit of time.

"We have to assess it, if it's not going to get much better, it's something we need to look at and if we need to go into the market then to get another centre-half.

"At this moment in time, he's progressing well, he's putting more weight on it, and we'll see over the next week where we're at with him.

“(Evans starting the season) will be questionable, because he hasn’t trained with the squad yet and he'll take a wee bit of time to get up to speed.

"He’s still working, he's still doing a lot of work, just not with the squad yet."

The other senior players yet to feature in pre-season are midfielder Dennis Praet, and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and Danny Ward. All three reached the knockout stages of the Euros with Belgium, Denmark, and Wales respectively.

Praet was pictured in training at the end of last week, and could be in contention for an appearance in City’s next pre-season clash, at home to Villarreal on Wednesday.
