Spain started the tournament poorly and arguably deserved the win against Italy. Denmark lost their first two matches and were it not for Belgium’s 100% record would have been out. Nobody is perfect. Everyone nees luck.

We shut up shop and let them attack when we could have just dominated (in my opinion). But at the end of the day we’re winning. And that’s the objective. So who is going to complain about that?

Spain, Italy and Denmark have topped the attacking charts throughout the tournament and were unfortunate to have poor starts points-wise.

I was half expecting England to put Denmark to the sword in extra-time and I agree with you that it seemed an overly cautious move by Southgate. I was expecting it to finish 4 or 5-1 the way England were relentlessly keeping up the pressure. That would really have been a sign of intent.

Great video doing the rounds on the net!!

Watching/experiencing people passionately celebrating a goal in football is generally a wholesome experience. Couldn't see the image on the screen, but guessing they're reacting to Kane's goal

Also the argument of Denmark going for the win, and Italy coming out the blocks etc.

I don’t know what England have done wrong really. I think if we were watching this and it was Germany in our position playing this way we’d probably say they’re boring but well drilled and know how to win. And probably admire it!

As a fan I find it frustrating that we don’t attack more, it absolutely broke me last night that we played for the corner when we could have scored another goal or two. We shut up shop and let them attack when we could have just dominated (in my opinion). But at the end of the day we’re winning. And that’s the objective. So who is going to complain about that?

It’s the in thing to moan about anything you possibly can and find the slightest negative. Last night we came from a goal behind to win. We absolutely battered them bar their 15 minute spell before they scored. We’ve let one goal in and scored at least twice in every knockout game. I’m not sure what more people want?

We lose = Some England fans say we're shit

We win = Some England fans say we're still shit

We get to a final = Some England fans say we've not played "good enough football"

We win on Sunday = Some England fans will find ANY WAY they can to shit on the team. It'll never be good enough for some. I think people love revelling in the failure and criticism, or they're just jealous that when they were "really into" following England they weren't as good.

Whatever the case, dry your eyes. This is an amazing time, the atmosphere was electric and I'm so buzzed for how everyone is bracing for Sunday. It will be fantastic.

It’s embarrassing. I just don’t get it. Just get behind the team.

Some very disappointing accounts filtering through from the largely expat Danes who attended the game yesterday.

Kids wearing Danish kits were spat and hit out at, English fans in the Denmark section were actively trying to start a fight, a family with two kids were seen running to the police being chased by England fans while another woman and her daughter were being told to "F off to where you came from". Despite several England fans also trying to intervene and calm things down, that is disappointing.

Always found Danes to be very welcome in England and vice versa.

That is disappointing, I've visited Copenhagen about 5 times and it remains the best city I have ever visited. People are very friendly. I did however get told to "get the eff out of my country" by a (presumably) Dane, he wanted my bike....well not my bike...the 'city's bike. I didn't let it spoil my visit as idiots exist in every country.

The amount of mouth breathers in a 60k football crowd will be healthy. We all have them

Hardly a suprise sadly.

Occurred to me how bojo seems to be willing to attach himself really closely to the football team now.....ironic given he said he didn't support them taking the knee....at least he's representing his supporters 🙄

Unsurprising. It's the brand of Englishness I despise - it hates everything and everyone different, and wants war with anyone available.

You dont even make sense.

Atleast come back with a balanced arguement.

English football fans are the best at being a minority of nob ends, they are European  AND World champions at it!!!!

So the day after winning a Euro semi-final and the joyous celebration and happy mood, posters are discussing 'nob head' Englishness based on some anecdotal evidence.

You can always rely on FT to drag the mood down. Jeez.

Derby day in Bedford on Sunday

@StanSP @Hollyfox

😄😄

Should be a bit lively.

The Italian community in Bedford is brilliant and brings so much to the town but after decades of seeing them celebrating titles on a regular basis, and England failing to live up to expectations, its been tough to live with.

I obviously want England to get over the line on Sunday but if they don't, I really hope the Italian's don't do their usual in the town centre, as they'll be loads of disappointed English fans that will have been on the sauce, walking back through it,from various pubs.

We all know there's a shit load of bellends that appear doing international tournaments and it could be really bad here on Sunday, if England lose.

Sad, but true.

Hope England win or that I'm wrong👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The vast majority of England fans would not condone aggression towards Denmark fans.

However, good sense tells me that if I were an England fan in Copenhagen after the game last night I would not have been showing my colours. This makes sense to me because football has a habit of being particularly tribal and there will always be someone who will take that too far. It's not right but it is still there in football.

Not everyone on FT is English and this thread was already touching on the adjacent theme of England's football team not being popular beyond it's own borders. But apologies if any of this brought your mood down. Thanks for taking the time to add your otherwise belittling comments

What’s your reason for supporting leicester as a Dane?

I choose to believe you. I am just fearful that these minorities are increasing around the globe, maybe with a more violent edge in some places than others.

I think everybody can accept gloating, banter and the like. But violent, disrespectful and hateful acts are not what we want to see, right? I hope the English FA nip it in the bud even in these joyous occasions - there's a reason I and many non-English fell in love with English football, but it was certainly despite these types of morons.
