Where will Leicester finish in the table prediction

I’m thinking we can hit 4th this year provided we can keep our notable players. We’ll replace Liverpool. Yes they have somebody injuries back but they still haven’t strengthened, they are a couple of incidents away from turmoil again.

5th or 6th and qualification for CL through winning the Europa League would be an incredible achievement.  This is more doable than top 4 imo.

The second half against Wolves will be a common occurrence in my opinion but we won't always be so lucky to escape the way we did on Saturday.

 

We have always suffered from lack of concentration and silly mistakes and I think that will continue to be the reason we drop too many silly points which go on to cost us near the end of the season.

 

How we got away with 3 points on Saturday is a minor miracle.

I'd say more down to Wolves inability to score golden opportunities.  If you think we'll get away with that all season...

but the FACT remains that we scored 1 goal and Wolves scored nil...check how many points each of us have in the league table....

We did not look like a top 5 side in the second half on Saturday.   

 

There are a number of areas where we need to sharpen up.  If we play like that we will be upper mid-table.

 

However, if we can get 11 of our top players on the field together, we will improve.   Two of the starting 11 are not among our top players (imo we have about 17).

 

Barnes will get fitter and stronger.   On Saturday, Maddison had played one or two probing passes before being kicked out of the game.  If these two get a sustained, injury free run, top 4 is possible.   Both have an X factor that is horrible to play against. 

 

 If we buy an X factor right winger, that will make a difference too.  Another way of getting 11 top players on the pitch would be for Pereira to a more advanced position when Castagne returns.  It may not be his best position but he is a top player and it may be our best option.

I voted where I think we will finish and then commented my justification for that vote so I'd say it's 100% the correct thread.

 

As for conversation, that's the end of it now, but if you are looking for the "Starting needless arguments because someone has a different opinion to your own" thread, I think that got closed a while back.

 

Oh, just rechecked the thread title, I can clarify that it does question where we will 'finish' not where we will be after Match 1.

Nobody is saying that we won't aim for top 4...this is just about expectations

Top four was on with Fofana looking immense. That terrible injury will make a difference to our season and I think we should be realistic about that. 
 

I’m afraid we’re looking at 5th to 7th with Amartey/Vestergaard substituting instead. This will become more apparent in the games where we’re under the kosh.

Top four will be a far tougher nut to crack with the depressing amount of spending going on. That said, got a funny feeling Man City are going to have a season of regression - it's more a matter of how extreme that regression is. If they really go down the pan, got a funny feeling it could be us and them battling for 4th this time around.

 

The rest of the 'big four' had piss-easy opening fixtures, so can't read too much into their wins, but I see Chelsea as the favourites this time out. Let's see how they all get on against opposition less likely to roll over before we can make a real judgement on how much they've improved.

Curiously, I also have a funny feeling about Man City - that they might conceivably 'regress' from 1st to 2d while Harry Kane scores tons of goals for them!

Probably the best thing about currently being in the US is that I can DVR our games and leisurely rewatch same much later without the tension and nervousness of watching live action, breaking down segments of the game and rewinding/rewatching key bits of action.

 

Upon rewatching Saturday's game, we frankly were not as "poor" in that second-half as was my initial judgment (and much of the consensus on FT). On the contrary, we actually professionally managed much of the game and frankly could have grabbed 1 or 2 more goals. 

 

Not to rubbish Wolves, who improved markedly during the second-half, but upon rewatching the best they could have done (and obviously it easy to prognosticate in hindsight) was wrestle a point, given that though they had a lot of "shots" Kasper was barely called upon to make any serious saves.

 

Early doors, but frankly I am much more comfortable with the team now than I was post-game on Saturday. Even the variously-criticized Vestergaard and the much-criticized Amartey were not as "poor" as alleged. They each made the odd miscues (Amartey with two horrid passes to the opposition), but their overall showing was more than decent.

Compare then...the chances "We" failed to convert,or an attack just missed out, on Early season Timing und weight of ball...

 

I want to See 5 games before I would even consider predictions...
