  1. 1. OK so its only been 1 game but we can see how all the other teams are shaping up and the signings they've made so realistically where do you expect the Foxes to finish in the 21/22 Premier League Table?

    • Top 4
      54
    • 5th or 6th
      176
    • 7th to 10th
      75

My honest prediction is 5th/6th

Apologies....I know its sad to reply to your own post but I just want people to remember that over the summer Liverpool have Van Dijk and Matip back from injury....Title winners Man City have spent £100 million and will probably eclipse that by buying Kane....Chelsea have just bought themselves a guaranteed 20 + goals a season striker and Man United have strengthened with Sancho and Varane.

Thats 4 teams there that all EXPECT nothing less than top 4 and are arguably stronger in all areas than last season and have their home crowds back plus i'm not mentioning Spurs, Arsenal or West Ham in the conversation who equally have lofty expectations.

So before people click top 4 because we nearly got it the last 2 seasons remember....we didn't in the end and its potentially harder this season than either of those seasons. Add to that we've lost an absolute Rolls Royce of a CB in Fofana and sadly Evans appears to have an ongoing issue.

5-7 bracket should be where we're looking. Arsenal look like they might drop out of that (on expectation) and a West Ham or an Everton might step in. Think the Thursday Sunday sequence may impact West Ham's squad a bit so I reckon we'll get top 6. Expect the top 4 to be some distance clear this year.

If we are honest, looking at squads I think we certainly have the 5th or 6th best squad in the league.

The top four are on another level, and I believe us and Spurs are on another level to the next 5 or 6 teams.

To reach the top 4, we need to perform slightly above our level consistently over the season, whilst hoping one of the top 4 struggle.

Likewise, if we dip, teams like West Ham could be nipping at our heels.

Head says 6th, heart says we can get top 4! I’d take 6th and a cup - or lower and the Europa Leagues

I’m thinking 7th or 8th this season. I don’t think we can manage with the previous Top 4 and playing devil’s advocate in my head with West Ham, Spurs, and Everton. Thinking Arteta will be sacked this year.

How many do we need for this season lol lol

It's a really good question.

In all honesty I could see us finishing with 6 - 8, I'd love us to do 10, but I just can't see it this season.

It just depends on how the new posters settle in.

Are you asking an honest question or trying to shape FT opinion? lol

Sure, the top 4 from last season look stronger on paper, but you forgot that one great equalizer: INJURIES!

Personally, I think our league form might take a little bit of a knock if we progress deep into the cup competitions, particularly the Europa League cup (which I hope that we prioritize and seriously try to win) with its seeming Thursday-Sunday unsettling effect. And who knows what AFCON might do to us (and tbf to a few other teams).

If we win the Europa Cup, I personally would not mind finishing lower than the last two seasons (perhaps even as low as 8th or 9th). Otherwise, I am hopeful of (don't want to say expecting) good cup runs and qualifying yet again for a place in Europe (ie, finishing no lower than 6th).

Come on yer Beautiful Foxes! :scarf:

Thanks. I'd completely forgot...

I’ve selected 5th 6th but Man U’s line up on Saturday didn’t frighten me that much, even with Sancho who untested in the prem. I think if we get another good source of goals and Barnes gets to a good level before he got injured we can catch them. I think we have an outside chance of top 4 but expect us to be top 6 min this season!

keep building that team Top and Brendan!!

Yes their lineup don’t scare me that much. It was one game and a lot of them goals happened due to Leeds amazing fantastic attacking play 😂😂

Martial is hit and miss and been so for ages, Rashford and Sancho couldn’t get into England first team.

I actually decided to stick a fiver on us making top four on Friday night - this may have been caused by winning £15 on a free bet from Friday when I elected Brentford to win Arsenal.

We've got the 5th best squad and fully fit you could argue it's better than that, especially if we do get a right winger and Vards continues like the other day. I actually think there's quite a big gulf in terms of squad quality from us to the rest now.

Equally though, as tickler says, the 4 teams you'd have put above us have all strengethened or having players coming back that they should all comfortably get top 4. If we had a full fit squad I might feel differently.

I think last year's top 4 will pull a bit further a way this season, and Spurs will be the best of the rest. After that it'll be between us and West Ham for 6th I reckon.

Posted

I can see an unknown like West Ham last season challenging the top 6. There’s always a surprise at the top and bottom in the league. I see us finishing between 7th and 10th. Can see europa taking its toll on us this season.

Posted

i think we will finish somewhere between 6th - 10th....

I think the challenges we have in defence, as well as the imbalance on the RW, will cause us issues as the season goes on.  That coupled with a heavy calendar will take it's toll.

Wow, lots of pessimism in this thread! We should aim for top 4 with this team, this is a golden era at LCFC and lets rack up the achievements while we have the team to do it! I would be very surprised if we finished below 6th place.
