Spudulike Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 It's the inevitable consequence of all-seater stadia and reserved seating. Sections of crowds have always been rowdy since I've been an active fan from the early 70's. In fact it was far worse and modern fans would be horrified had they experienced it. However, the lads on the terraces could group together and those that didn't want to be a part of the crowd surges etc could usually avoid it. My Dad used to drop me off at Filbert St and stand with his mates away from the action whilst I'd join up with the boot boys in the Kop. Everyone knew where to go and progressed through the heirachy over the years. If you went in the pens then expect rowdiness. I'm not saying the olden days were better, just different, and fixing fans in unable to move will cause most of these problems. 4

FLINTHAMFC Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 You remind of the BBC who have a say no to Hate "campaign", yet there own message boards are full of bile and hatred aimed at all manner of people. They don't give the first stuff. If you want people to conduct themselves better you should lead by example.

Unreserved seating in away ends would go some way to resolving a lot of the issues raised in this thread. Hopefully it's something clubs think about as more and more opt to install rail seating in both home and away ends. 2

How am I dictating how much people drink, 1 pint or ten pints… couldn’t give a toss. Not sure if I’ve missed your point?

Blue-fox Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 To be fair probably was the best idea to have a load of ale before watching that game last night 😂 1
turkish14 Posted 24 August 2021 Author Posted 24 August 2021 Anyone also see the guy chuffing fags in the toilet, not giving a shit about others in there at the time?

People like you are the real embarrassment to our club. To be fair, the real embarrassment is not realising that the 'SA' part of 'ISA' already stands for 'Savings Account'. You'd probably know that if you spent more time sitting down and having less fun 6
RonnieTodger Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 Ah I’ve missed our own away ends being slagged off. Great to see it back.
HighPeakFox Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 Just a reminder that some people belong under the 'Ignore' button - Mr Rowdy has long since been on my (lengthy) list. 1

Jattdogg Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 The guy can't even stand and sing his responses back at @turkish14.. plastic needs to stay in the London Stadium, snorting coke, and drinking with his mates, giving it the big. Praly at home having a sit down pee whilst reading this thread. I know I am! Why are you online so soon after the match? Bloody hell! I joke!!!! Lol At the end of the day, sing, don't sing.. just support the team..have good fun (banter included) but respect your fellow city fans. If someone doesnt want to sing so be it. Might have reasons. If someone wants to banter (and include vulgar words) well, it is a football match and it happens even if it ain't your cuppa. I enjoy most "bantz" (some is cringe) but i have young kids so i understand why as a father you wont want them near that. I do think we need to have a bigger discussion on alcoholism and public drunkenness though however thats not just for football matches and belongs in the general forum. I know others have already spoken on that in the past.
Popular Post Leicester_Loyal Posted 24 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 24 August 2021 Always laugh at people who sit in the crowd calling and pointing at other fans calling them willy pullers and saying 'outside' for 90 minutes. You know full well these lads head straight back onto the coach as soon as they leave the ground 5 3

Quite agree mate… I take my son to a game expecting to hear bad language, expecting frustrations, cursing etc. That’s a choice we make. but yes public drunkenness that leads to hyper aggressive behaviour, where they try and Shame others into chanting, or behave in a way that puts others at risk, IMO needs addressing. abusing other fans personally, I don’t like. I think it makes it seem acceptable, to ridicule others for how they look. In a world of more acceptance with BLM and LGBT, ripping others for hair colour, glasses or weight I’m never behind. If it was any of our children being ripped, I am Sure most of us would take offence. 2 2

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 If you think a) the only way of supporting the team at an away game is get rowdy and abuse others and b) if you call people out for not singing all the time when you are - you must have an incredibly simple view of the world. In some ways I’m a little jealous because I wish the world was as binary as this, but in reality people express themselves in different ways - and I think this thread highlights that. For example, would you expect a child to behave or express themselves in the same way an adult with low IQ / a different sense of cultural capital does? There is no one fits all, for anything. 1
