turkish14 Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 (edited) Guys (mainly young teens-early twenties) before gobbing off aggressively when you feel like your fellow city fans should be more passionate and chant when you dictate…remember…. Its easy to chant and be passionate when wasted, or eyes glazed drugged up, we have all been there (but I’d like to think behaved more appropriate) Its easy to act hard and turn on your own fans for not chanting when your wasted &/or drugged up. You’ll just look more of a T*** Its easy being younger and having no dependants that rely on you to act respectfully, or be awake and alert the next AM whilst you lay in, or monging it at work. its easier for your less “passionate” fans to not want to engage in chanting when you are personally insulting away fans for there weight or the fact they wear glasses. Why would the majority of us want to act like vile C***s. The irony is that all around our away end are people wearing glasses, overweight, But you get outraged (rightly so) if home fans are racist to our fan base. Be passionate 100%, but accept that your enjoyment doesn’t depend on whether we sing or not. If it does then I find that depressing. some proper serious anger issues last night 😖 Edited 24 August 2021 by turkish14 3 1
Popular Post VLC86 Posted 24 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 24 August 2021 (edited) How many people would you say this applies to? There is always a small minority of willy pullers in society, seems a bit OTT. Edited 24 August 2021 by Costock_Fox 10

Popular Post RoboFox Posted 24 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 24 August 2021 Thick twats will do what thick twats do. They aren't going to be reading this thread, as most I suspect aren't fully literate. And to be honest, whenever I've seen this they aren't just young people. They're also full grown men in their 40s and 50s. I guess when you're a thick twat, you're always a thick twat. I agree it's intimidating at worst, at least embarrassing, but let's not forget that these are a small minority of neanderthals with a pack mentality and they don't represent my football club. 15
suffolk fox Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 I moved during the game. A group of pissed up drugged up lads, stood behind us falling all over the place, they were that stoned pissed. A fight nearly ensued with other City fans because one of these individuals fell onto and kept banging the back of the womans head stood next to me. Her boyfriend took exception to this and him and his mates turned on the four lads behind us. A scuffle ensued. Stewards intervened and the pissed up lads were removed. Some of our fans are complete knobs at times, every club has them. Cant understand why you get that bladdered though its obvious you are not interested in the football. 3

Football is about the day out as well as the match for some though. There have been occasions where I’ve definitely drank too much to enjoy the game but football is different to everyone. Obviously fighting isn’t excusable though. 5
yorkie1999 Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 I went to the villa cup game a couple of years ago, probably the same group of piss heads, which is fine cos we've all been there, but i can honestly say i've never queued for a pint, took one swig out of it then lobbed the rest in the air, that's just dumb. 2

The exact same thing happened near me (unless it was the same lads) it was two lads (one with red hair) - they couldn't even stand up and were falling over everybody. Loads of people had to move to get away from them.

Unless it’s Carling …. I do this in pubs, restaurants, and weddings if it is 🍻😂 3
drumbeat Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 As a rare singer/chanter, I empathise. That I don't demonstrate my support for the team in their accepted way doesn't mean I am less of a supporter. I don't bring my own prawn sandwiches though, I settle for whatever over-priced fodder is available. That said, I did rather like Charlton's pasties. 2
Spudulike Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 Probably the same ones that abused Ian Wright at Wembley

I think this for me… I struggle tj not say anything. As such I did. Thankfully the guy apologised as my 12 year old son was present, it’s the vile atmosphere it creates, that makes me question whether I want my son hearing that. I get cursing, swearing, frustration etc, but feel it’s going to far
Popular Post peach0000 Posted 24 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 24 August 2021 I have never got why it's a consistent issue, it is at almost every game. Surely those responsible should just be banned. People seem to think that when they go to a football match the normal rules of what is acceptable in society don't apply, they should. It's fine to go to a match, have a few drinks and have a good time. When your behaviour starts impacting negative on others or when you are troublemaking you should be kicked out and banned, just like you would in any bar anywhere in the country. 7
Popular Post ealingfox Posted 24 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 24 August 2021 Says something about you too if you think you can't be vocal and passionate in supporting the team without drink or drugs? 11

But this seems to be accepted in society, it’s not just a football problem, look at town and city centres up and down the country every weekend. They’re the same sorts of people doing the exactly the same

You can't really do much about dickheads on the street but you can do something about dickheads in a football stadium. It's the same people causing the problems every week and I really don't get how they are still being allowed to attend games. 1

Popular Post Father Ted Posted 24 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 24 August 2021 Don’t bother going to away games then if you aren’t going to sing and get rowdy. 👍 Watch it on the tele next time. “Fans” who sit and don’t sing at aways shouldn’t be there. 3 4 12

Popular Post Daggers Posted 24 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 24 August 2021 If anyone would like to provide me with free drink and drugs I'll happily join in with shouting things. I'm particularly good at shouting things when drunk and high. They might be a bit random and not football-related - a more erudite Bernie, if you will. Who wouldn't love a bit of that? 1 6
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 These idiots get everywhere unfortunately, particularly at football.
goose2010 Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 Who's getting off their head on a Monday night ?! Bloody madness that! Away days are a mine field though to where your seats are. Its the worst when you're walking up to your seats and you see some absolute 'lads' near you. I'm all up for a few beers, the banter and some singing but some of the state's you see I just don't get it. Save yourself £30 (spend it on more booze and drugs maybe?!) and don't go the game as no chance any of the remember the match / enjoy swaying side to side. 1 1
Guest TheBear Posted 24 August 2021 Posted 24 August 2021 People should be vocal and sing at away games. We are outnumbered by home fans and need to make as much noise to support and gee up the team as possible. It clearly makes a difference to the team. I don't understand why you would go to an away game and not sing...

It’s a minority… but when you can see fellow fans uncomfortable around you (possibly imtimidates) certainly my son was, I had to act. Nothing wrong with passion, driving your team on, trying to get more quiet fans engaged… but it wasn’t great last night nor the recent away games I’ve been too
