It’s a minority…

but when you can see fellow fans uncomfortable around you (possibly imtimidates) certainly my son was, I had to act.

Nothing wrong with passion, driving your team on, trying to get more quiet fans engaged…

but  it wasn’t great last night nor the recent away games I’ve been too

Absolutely. I made the mistake of taking children 6 and 11 to Everton away in the FA Cup a few years back, and the wife actually. Never again, and it sounds like you had it worse from what I recall.

If anyone would like to provide me with free drink and drugs I'll happily join in with shouting things. I'm particularly good at shouting things when drunk and high. They might be a bit random and not football-related - a more erudite Bernie, if you will. Who wouldn't love a bit of that?

I'm a bit like that, once shouted at steven gerard who was taking a corner straight in front of me "Stevie, Stevie, you broke my heart you did, you broke my heart when you left me in that motel room in runcorn." and he started laughing.

That's not what he said though. What I would argue is that OP and others are being hypocritical saying "we've all been there/done it" and then expecting the next generation to behave differently.

Your right… it does stink of hypocrisy

ive never done drugs, and never been so drink that I’m vile around others. My point was we have all been drunk, some maybe drugs, but still a way to behave.

not every drunk behaves like those last night

The bloke behind me whose one contribution was to shout 'wan£er' repeatedly at Bowen every time he trotted across to take a corner was my personal favourite. Clearly massively unsettled the 'Hull reject' as he drilled another corner into the danger area. There was some amusing pie based banter with a chunky 'Ammer which made me smile though.

Don’t bother going to away games then if you aren’t going to sing and get rowdy. 👍 Watch it on the tele next time. “Fans” who sit and don’t sing at aways shouldn’t be there.

No one says don’t drink or chant/sing.. I do feel  singing sections (yes it’s a constant debate) needs to happen.

but if you feel some of the behaviour from those that cannot handle drink or narcotics is acceptable, then your just as dumb.

I have every right to not sing should I not choose too. That’s my choice abs not fit to say.

bet you rule the roost at home

My sons 12, and to be honest very switched on for his age. I try to reassure him though and also get him to see what drinking can do to those that cannot handle it. Thank fully he won’t grow to be a creature

Says something about you too if you think you can't be vocal and passionate in supporting the team without drink or drugs?

Based on yesterday’s performance I might be asking for contacts.

I stopped going regularly years ago for these reasons. I get to the occasional match now but stopped taking the kids, especially away games.

Seriously, think before you post and mind your language.

There's bound to be many youngsters on this forum.

A foul-mouthed tirade is certainly not a classy thing to do.

People should be vocal and sing at away games. We are outnumbered by home fans and need to make as much noise to support and gee up the team as possible. It clearly makes a difference to the team. I don't understand why you would go to an away game and not sing...

You know some people just want to watch their team play? You know some people may have a medical issue that prevents them from shouting? You know some people may have a presentation to do the next day and don't really want to sound like they've got a frog in their throat?

Lots of different reasons but ultimately it's their prerogative....

I think this is the main reason why our players get injured and we can't sign a right midfielder

Given all the extras flying about in our away ends, we might be able to persuade Neres to leave Ajax after all …

Honestly sums foxestalk up this. All cry and moan about our “atmosphere” yet moan about those that want to sing and are a bit rowdy at away games. It’s you that aren’t welcome. Stay at home and watch on the tele. Imagine going to games on Ausden Clark in your brand new replica shirt, drinking coffee and telling young passionate lads to sit down and not chant so loud. Disgrace to the club.

I'm not sure you get it? No one has an issue with fans chanting or singing? It's the drunken/drugged up yobs who intimidate fellow fans is the issue. I had a group of them at the charity shield. Abusing a fellow Leicester fan for the way she looked. Just no need! I'd love to say it was all those "youngsters" but that particular group has a few 50+ too. I guess there's imbeciles across many different age groups.

I used to have a guy sit next to me and my old man who'l was very alf garnett, he'd just scream 'WHERE'S YOUR PASSPORT' whenever someone who wasn't white, or foreign touched the ball, and other such bright things. One day someone turned round and screamed in his face he was all like 'racist? Who's racist?'. Never saw him or his poor young lad again.
