Easily forgotten that Youri's first season when we also signed Praet, he was absolute doggo. Same as Maddison this year, just had a kid, looked like he was towing a caravan half the time, couldn't complete a pass. Praet came in and smashed it. It was only the following season that Praet was benched for Youri and didn't get the game time. He'll get bracketed in there with flops like Slimani and Silva but there's a proper box to box player in there if he gets a run. Selling him would be a huge mistake.

Wasn't doggo but inconsistent yes. The rest i agree with. He got a run last season at the start as a rm and was v good. Rodgers then banished him lol

Hurt in training - bone injury/foot fracture. Possibility of surgery and out for several months 😔

Well that’s probably just cost us another 15 or so million quid this summer.

I was wondering if he would come back early? I should imagine that's him out for the season now especially if he does need surgery?

Poor guy, he really doesn't have the best luck.

It would be interesting, I suppose it would come down to who offers the better medical care. Also I would imagine they are paying a good portion of his wages, I’m not sure how that would be affected by him returning early.

I was thinking at the end of the season I would imagine he’d get a £15 million move somewhere, no chance anyone signs him if he’s still injured.

I’m not sure if it sounds bonkers or someone has spiked my morning coffee, but I would give Praet a go at being the replacement for Tielemans.

Different player, but he’s got a good range of passing and has never had a consistent run of games here. You don’t get in the Belgian international set up if you’re not a good player. I would give him a go, and it could potentially free up the Tielemans money to strengthens elsewhere. Whether Dennis wants to come back is another question or course.

I'm not sure he would want to come back but I would play him and free up the Youri money. He wants game time so he may come back? Him and KDH doesn't seem a horrendous idea at all!

Apparently it's 2 months out but that's if he doesn't need surgery. So with recovery he is out this season I would imagine.

Doubt he'll want to come back and play for us, definitely won't happen if Rodgers is still here.

He'll be sold abroad to Italy IMO, hopefully can get a decent fee for him, that along with the Tielemans money should get us a good CM and a CB.

Somebody is going to have to offer him about £4 million a year then. I just do not see that happening.

I'm not sure Torino will sign Praet as it is.

They've recently signed Samuele Ricci (who we had been linked with previously) on loan with an obligation to buy.

I'd be happy to have him back here to be honest.

Doesn't get on with Rodgers though, to does he?

Still have the image in my head of Everton away project restart. Two goals down first half, Praet on the pitch. Player goes down for an injury, might've been Ndidi, so they're all over at the side of the pitch getting fluid & instructions. Brendan's saying his piece and Praet is looking away shaking his head at what he was hearing. Think he got subbed at half time. Barely got chances since. Good player but was always going to struggle for games here.

This injury news really isn't good though. How's he looked back in Seria A?

If Torino will have been in a position to sign him, then there are plenty of other clubs across the big European leagues as well.

It isn't as simple as, well he earns £4m a year so that is it - different tax rules in countries like Italy for players mean they can pay a lot less on contracts because the players won't lose as much to tax.

There could well be a way to satisfy his personal terms but like Ghezzal we may get little for him feewise. If Rodgers does depart , he could be open to coming back.

Thought we’d agreed £15 mill with Torino future fee? Plus saving of 60k a week means selling him gives us some good funds for a replacement

I think the fee was pure speculation. The actual details have never been made public.

It has been discussed enough in public to able to determine that it is in the £10-15m range though.

Don't think it was mandatory, so if he's not impressed enough to fork out 15 mill on him they'll be sending him back here at the end of the season.

Would very likely be the 2nd highest fee they have paid for a player - and I doubt he has done enough this season so far for them to warrant it

He has played well when he has played but he has also been injured quite a lot and us now out for several months so I just can't see them paying it when he hasn't played that much.

Assuming italian football is still broke its the way they've been operating to get players out on loan without a commitment to buy. Arsenal and Man Utd have loaned out a few players to Italian clubs with optional purchase clauses and they've not signed them even though they did quite well.

He has had some good games for them but he has also had some poor games - overall for them he has been pretty average

Along with injuries like you mention and them very likely needing a bit of a rebuild this summer with Belotti leaving on a free and Bremer probably off, doubt they would want to spend much on Praet

Still very broken, they currently have 9 players on loan, 2 with obligations to buy, 5 with options to buy and 2 normal loans

Gutted for him, he's another who has come to us and picked up regular niggles very much like Castagne and Perez. The hope of them having a good run of games on loan and buggering off for good is difficult if they can't stay fit. FFS
