Think that might have even his actual last game for us. We performed poorly in all 3 games because mainly, we were overrun in midfield. This has happened with and without Praet because of how Rodgers has stubbornly set up in a similar way each time. Praet should in no way be made a scapegoat for that particular result. On the most recent meeting of the two teams, when the lineups were released, many predicted precisely what the outcome was going to be in advance and why. It didn't take a rocket scientist or a supposed elite manager to see it either. 2 1

We do have a tendency to be overrun and lucky not to come away without a hiding. There are some games you should be more pragmatic and use common sense but Rodgers seems not to understand this. Unfortunately, he sometimes leaves those moments of pragmatism for teams like Norwich when we could perhaps afford to be a little more lively on the attacking front. If you can't attack and cause the opposition problems with players like Vardy, Barnes, Tielemans, Daka, Iheanacho and Ricardo it makes you wonder what it takes to attack the might of teams like Norwich and possibly at least 10 teams above them. Particularly at this moment in time, through injury, we should perhaps be focusing on our strengths more than merely trying to cover our weaknesses. 4

Wonder if he'd be open to a return, or if thats him fishing for a bigger move elsewhere. 1
SecretPro Posted 13 October 2021 Posted 13 October 2021 Praet is right. For some unknown reason Brendan would rather chuck a shirt at a stale turd and ask it to play ahead of him. 2

There is one just isn't mandatory, Torino still have a clause they can activate if they want I wondered if he may return and get another chance if Youri leaves next summer 2
Deeg67 Posted 13 October 2021 Posted 13 October 2021 No chance he comes back unless there's a managerial change.

Lambert09 Posted 14 October 2021 Posted 14 October 2021 Very odd to come out with something like this when you might have to go back next season. He’s not wrong but that’s hardly going to help his situation
HighPeakFox Posted 14 October 2021 Posted 14 October 2021 I don't see much wrong here, or controversial either.
Mike Oxlong Posted 14 October 2021 Posted 14 October 2021 The only bit of the article I didn’t like was this “That (the FA Cup) didn't feel like my prize,” he said. “I had played against Stoke in the third round and had come in again (as a substitute in the quarter-final against Manchester United), but in the final I had to watch. It felt sour to put that cup in the air.” I fully understand his frustration at not getting much game time after his injury though, particularly given the form of the alternatives.
Popular Post Le Renard Posted 14 October 2021 Popular Post Posted 14 October 2021 I think Praet coming out with this article is him trying to completely burn his bridges at Leicester whilst Rodgers is still in charge, and it is no coincidence his mate Castagne has been linked with clubs in Italy. You're not going to be happy if one of your mates has been treated unfairly imo by Rodgers. Praet was not a Rodger's buy or he had much involvement in it, as we'd been after him the year before, also I remember he had a few words with Rodgers when he was subbed off towards the end of the 19/20 season, so there might be a bit of bad blood since then. Whereas we can see Perez is 100% Rodgers buy, because no matter how s**t he is, he keeps picking him. 5

Yeah, that was a strange comment to make to the media even if that was how he felt and it’s a shame that he didn’t feel less sour as part of the team group. I just can’t imagine that Mendy would say that sort of thing. That said, I do rate him as a better player than you do though. Edited 14 October 2021 by Mike Oxlong
Guest Lako42 Posted 14 October 2021 Posted 14 October 2021 BR isn't the motivational man manager that everyone thinks...... Didn't need this story to tell us that though.

That's very outspoken (given the norm) and tantamount to burning your bridges. Also, and more to the point, hard to disagree with what he says. That said, I rate Praet and liked what he had to offer. I would certainly have been giving him equal game time, mixing things up. 2

Mark, I mean this in good humour, but do you ever 24 hour ban yourself for repetition? 7

Its possible that's a turn of phrase where the meaning hasnt quite carried across the same when translated? It's totally understandable that he didn't feel like it was his trophy to lift when he'd only played a token part in getting to the final, and wasn't really a part of the first team at all at that point. It feeling 'sour' has a stronger meaning for us as native speakers but maybe he just meant it felt 'off' and uncomfortable when he himself hadn't really earned it? Ultimately though, LCFC didn't treat him brilliantly so if his remarks are negative towards us then he's justified in those also. When we get it right it seems like we can really get it right, but like any club there are going to be cases which don't quite play out as they should, and Praet is one of those for us. Hopefully we can sort the issues before it affects any more of the squad and future signings... Edited 14 October 2021 by Xen 2
