I actually did play a few games in goal not my best position I might add.

that's all a long time ago. Now Keepers are much better prepared, But their always on a hiding to nothing with Penalties, They know that. I'm not sure what Brighton's keeper was trying to do last night. He certainly made it easy for us.

it’s not like a penalty taker who prefers to go one way or the other... he was just trying a tactic that didn’t work out (and was executed poorly)

No worries, I’m sure we’re on agreement with penalties. There’s only 2 options a good penalty and a bad. Any that go in have achieved their goal so are good. 
 

Anyone can score from 12 yards so it’s more down to how you read the situation and handle the pressure. 
 

in truth I was more comfortable with the way Madison or Barnes took theirs than Daka’s. Looks great but was only inches away from missing.

To think that we are into the last eight having only beaten Millwall and Brighton makes me think that we should give this a go really. Daka, Lookman and Barnes impressed me but KDH, Thomas, Choudhury and Vestergaard were poor. VDC doesn’t look good enough for this level either. Onwards and upwards though, fantastic from Ward again too. He’s a very solid backup keeper.

It's rather telling that Man City have won it 4 years straight and that 7 of the 8 quarter finalists are in the top 12 of the Prem.

The days of Tranmere reaching the final seem like a very distant dream at this point - the gulf in class between PL squads and everyone else is only growing.

The sides started evenly matched in terms of the number of first team players starting and the strength of the bench . Someone I was speaking to today was certain that the managers would speak to each other prior to the game and agree the relative strengths ( in terms of first teamer involvement)I maintain that would be a breach of playing conditions .

I was in Block M for the Burnley game and was shocked how quiet they were .

Burnley fans kept chanting towards the family stand as they seem to consider that more of a singing section .
