I think Brendan has two games left to save himself, lose on Thursday and then drop points against Newcastle I’m sorry to say, but he will be gone.

I know we’re doing badly, but if we can’t hold our own against bloody Newcastle then we deserve to be in the relegation zone. Napoli, yes, probably going to end in a loss, but NEWCASTLE!? They’ve won ONE GAME all bloody season!!

But that was last season, we won 2-1 and lost 4-2.

We definitely deserved to finish 5th.

I think the players and the manager think they’re better than they are.

Kasper needs a spell out of the side - his failure to dominate his six yard area is really costing us now. Teams must practice set pieces all week before they play us. Add to that we don’t have an aerially dominating centre half (like they did with Mings) and we really are so vulnerable from set pieces.

Rodgers made some very strange decisions again. Daka was our most threatening player so he gets shoved out to the right wing and then taken off altogether. Lookman starting again was bizarre, he loses the ball so often and is clearly lacking in confidence. One positive was KDH, loved the way he stuck up for himself with Ashley Young and I thought he played pretty well.

I thought we deserved a penalty for the challenge on Kasper late one. Surprised more wasn’t made of it by the commentary team and post match analysis. We wouldn’t have deserved a point though.

I think it’s fair to say that we just cannot compare last season to this season. Newcastle also finished 12th last season and are currently 19th, struggling to fight against bloody Norwich.

Totally agree, we can only compare seasons once complete.

Game to game, i.e this season vs last, we're not as good compared to last season, but we may be at the end of the season.

That Newcastle vs Norwich game, that's some added time being played.

We finished 5th we're currently 11th, also struggling (Albeit we won) against bloody Norwich along with struggling to fight against bloody anyone. :dunno:

Exactly my point - you can’t compare this and last season. If we were 15th or below, fair point. If we get smashed at home by Newcastle then we really do deserve to be in the f-ing relegation zone.

We're both on a massive downward trajectory is the point.

Totally agree. I still think we’ve got just enough in us to win. Norwich and Newcastle should be 6 points really. Going to get smashed by Spurs and Liverpool though.

I’ve normally calmed down and gained some perspective by now after a defeat but I’m still fuming inside this morning, can’t get my head round the same shit every week, really good players looking so poor not even doing the basics, it’s a joke.

Thursday could be a painful watch.

Inevitable  I'm afraid.

This could be our season in a nutshell.

Went to the Tigers yesterday which I always thought would be the correct decision.

Between leaving my seat at the end of the game and arriving at the bar we had managed to score and concede.

Spent the rest of the first half watching it on a concourse TV muttering FFS Leicester at our inability to put away chances.

Listened to the second half on the way home on Radio Leicester muttering FFS Leicester at our inability to do absolutely anything.

I can’t bring myself to call for the manager who won us the FA Cup seven months ago to go butsomething has got to change.

We can’t go on like this.

Well it's like a gap year for the foxes...we had one after winning the title in 2016

Interesting comparison.  The conclusion then was that Ranieri was great when he made the most of what was there when he arrived, but once he started putting his own imprint on the structure (signings and formations) then it fell apart. There are suspicions that the same sort of scenario is playing out now - Rodgers having more influence on signings (and a malign one) and fiddling with the formation and style of the team to its detriment.

The result then was a decline towards a relegation battle and the sack for the manager?  Could we see exactly the same happening now?  The difference now is that it's earlier in the season and we're not yet in quite as dire straits in terms of position in the table, but we might well be after the next bunch of games unless we show a marked improvement in performance.

Defence / pathetic.

Goalkeeper, great saves but anything in the box, totally useless, might as well stick a trafic cone in place for free kicks and corners, time to phone dad for advice kasper.

i`ll put NDIDI up for being worse than useless, he doesn`t want the ball, plays 5 yard dead mans passes, actually he seems scared of the ball, on a day with lots of competetion he was by far the worst player on the pitch.

Manager, has to take 100% responsibility for this one, had no idea how villa were going to play, substitutes from hell, losing and you take a striker off and replace him with the completely useless Perez

Again and Again Rodgers is losing and replaces a striker with a player who can`t score, its a total mental abberation, someone please tell him, when we are losing for gods sake put someone who can score on the fkin pitch.DAKA normally sits on the bench, Iheancho sits on the bench and the most consistently useless player in the premier league keeps getting game time, Perez, WHY ? WHY ? WHY ?

Only good news was Daka will come good, and Madders has some of his form back, Barnes i`d pay for the good half shift he put in, the rest of them should be stacking shelves in Tescos

What’s the reasoning for benching Nacho so much do you think? For me personally, I’d have him starting consistently.

We must be the most naïve team in the league.

Anyone who plays any level of football knows, when you commit a foul you either pick up the ball, allow your team to get back into shape and throw it back, or stand in front of the ball so the opposition can’t play quickly.

I know its not great to watch but being good at ‘the dark arts’ picks up points, we could learn a lot from players like McGinn and Ashely Young yesterday.

We are just too nice currently.

you and me both, the official stats say when he plays alongside vardy they have the best strike rate in the Premier league, when he plays in the cups he scores for fun, insanity not to play him and unbelievble not to put him on other than the occasional last 5 minutes when you need goals, i guess Rodgers has secretly married Perez and Nacho turned him down

Drives me nuts. He’s been my favourite player (I sound like a child now haha) for quite some time.
