Would love him to do well here. Mainly because (I think) I remember him being a ball boy here several years ago, and he used to be in front of the family stand.

Hamza never complains about being a lower squad member and I like that , he comes in when necessary and gets on with it .Of course he knows he is not a major talent but he has certain  strengths that we can use. Also, when was the last time he was injured?

If you hardly ever play you’re less likely to get injured

Obviously that is true but Hamza , like Youri , appears to be pretty bombproof. With our current injury problems that is a major plus.

He only has this undeserved reputation as a reckless destroyer because of all those times he's gone in recklessly and destroyed people...

Lazy vilification, just like that of Klopp.  How many can you recall and identify?

Thought he was much more controlled against Liverpool. Reminds me quite a bit of Robbie Savage in the way he plays.

No need for personal insults sir

I have always rated Hamza, always brings energy and intensity to our midfield when he plays and I think he is a very useful player to have in our squad, I think the problem is Brendan doesn’t trust him enough in possession to play as an 8 and unless Wilf is injured or unavailable he will not take his place so chances are very limited. Really hope he uses the next month to force his way into the side and give the manager a selection headache moving forward.

The unsung McTominey is a similar player. Their fans don't rate him because he is no ball player ,the opposition fans accuse him of being a thug , so what. The opposition players respect him because he goes in hard and often and every squad needs somebody like him.

Let’s not hype him up too much. I actually thought that he was quite poor against Liverpool, I found him weak in 50/50s and very slow. Yes, he played a role in holding Liverpool but a real good team performance is clouding judgements - he is bang average at best.

I am not hyping him , I know we have more talented players but LCFC cannot have a whole squad of the highest class. At the moment I think there is a place for him.

Definitely wouldn't be letting him go this window, that would be crazy with our current injury list but the comparison to Savage is pretty accurate. He is a headless chicken in the middle of the pitch when he's chasing every ball and has zero positional sense. I remember us losing to Norwich a couple of seasons back and it was pretty much on Hamza's shoulders. He went dashing round after every loose ball, out to the wings tackling full backs and leaving a big hole in the middle of the park. Norwich stolled through and helped themselves to a couple of goals with Hamza 20 yards up the pitch. It gives you a whole new appreciation for Ndidi when you see Hamza try and fill his boots.

Love his energy, love his ability to take man & ball, love that he loves the club as much as we all do but I don't ever see him being more than the squad player he is right now.

Being club trained is one of the reason he's still in and around the club, very useful for squad numbers.

Exactly this. Mendy for me is a far superior player but Hamza has to get the nod for the squad because he's home grown.

...if he is running around like a headless chicken, then he has been poorly coached!!!

There is nowhere that you get away with a performance such as that more than twice. The Coaches are obviously not doing their jobs if you have a professional player who can only offer you that.

I was making a joke but since you're salty how about Matt Richie, the Mo Salah challenge and the red card for England U21s...

Oh, and the red card for two classic reckless tackles against Wolves last year. You've sent me on a fun little tour of his war crimes on YouTube, thanks!

It must be just me but I think he got a rough deal this game. The first ‘foul’ I thought was a great tackle and the second he slipped over.

Also how was that not a peno for Maddison after seeing some of the shite given against us.

Maybe because of his wage packet 🤣

We have been guilty of trapping players with generous contracts. A professional footballer though is doing it for the money ,its a short career.

Yeah, he's one of those players who wouldn't have had any problems in a previous era.

Unfortunately these tackles are always a gamble especially nowadays and it's reckless to attempt them, particularly in danger areas.

Don't get me wrong I love Hamza, I'm just in a position where I'm defending a throwaway comment for some reason!

I'm pretty sure that's his only sending off in the league.

I think we only ever get a good performance from him when it’s against a team where we aren’t going to have a lot of the ball and find ourselves under the cosh. Because of his limitations. He’s very good at tackling, intercepting, pressing and making a simple pass and that’s sometimes what we need against this type of team.

I would agree with that , in spite of Puel and Rodgers trying to change us we still put in most of our better performances when we are under the "cosh" and we sit back and break quickly. Rodgers saw how well can do that against Liverpool and he should learn a lesson from it.
