Not a transfer rumour at all, but was just thinking about Callum Wilson? On a free, although wages would be crazy which is the biggest red flag, if we could sign him and keep him injury free he’d be perfect for us.

Said the same in a group chat last week. Even Calvert-Lewin. Not a rumour but knowing our track record we'd offer them both silly money to come here.

Too many what ifs, his injury record is honking. It’s a bit like having Ricardo, he’s a proper proven player but might only play 15 games

This is Leicester City we are talking about. lol

Nice ideas, but would either be willing to drop down to the Championship? Maybe Wilson, given his age and injury record. DCL due to his injury record too maybe?

I'd say yes, probably sounds arrogant but I've posted a few times now about squad depth due to the sheer negativity on here(at times) we aren't in a bad a place some think. Great chance of going straight back up.

A forward line of

Fatawu BEK Mavididi

       DCL or Wilson

Could be very very dangerous especially at Championship level. Dont think there's much better than the RW/CAM/LW in the division is there?

Some twitter talk that Real Betis are interested in signing Luke Thomas.

I can't see that as they have just signed Firpo from Leeds.

I’d encourage this just to see him trying to speak Spanish in the announcement video.

On the contrary, I’ve heard Thomas has been learning Scouse for the last 18 months.

DCL has had one purple patch in his entire career and spent more time injured than on the pitch contributing.

Wilson on the other hand has a very respectable record when fit. Trouble is he rarely is.  If he did stay fit Newcastle wouldn't be letting him run down his contract for nowt.  I know he's done an interview recently about not being the main man and that he's been available but Isak is on fire, but there's no way he can be relied on for anything.  In the last couple of seasons he's been injured for half the games.  And it's always different injuries.

There's talks about Newcastle potentially offering WIlson an extension.  You'd have to assume if that were the case and not just spurious rumours then that means they're happy with his fitnesslevels.  And as I say if he's actually over that, then he's not coming here.

I'm not disputing that wouldn't be a strong front four (if we can keep Fatawu, BEK, and Mavididi we just need a half-decent striker to put chances away of open up spaces). I meant more, would Wilson or DCL want to play for us? I just feel like we would be seen as too much of a step down compared to still playing in a top flight team.

Think he stays in the PL or goes abroad, can't see him in the Champ

If we go into the season with

Mavididi BEK Fatawu

then it won’t matter who’s up front imo 😂 you could literally have Daka it will be the best front 3 by a country mile.

I can totally see us signing Rhian Brewster on a free. Obviously, I don't want this to happen but...

Wouldn’t be a terrible move actually. I think there’s a chance he resurrects his career somewhere.  25 is no age to write off a player and I think as long as he’s not coming in as the main man, then it’s one that’s worth a gamble for someone.

hypothetically, if we have a solid season and he comes in and does what he has for Sheffield around 10 goal contributions. Theres a good chance you sell him for 5m back to the championship. He’s not hit his prime yet , a curious one for sure

It's the injuries. I agree he has never had that extended chance to show he can fulfil his potential but he may just be one of those players who's body will never allow him to.

It's a chance I don't think we can afford to take right now.
