lcfc sheff Posted 2 July 2025 Posted 2 July 2025 https://fbref.com/en/players/47369df8/Josh-Brownhill whilst his scoring ability was great last season his defensive output and passing is poor. I’d steer clear 1
adejo92 Posted 2 July 2025 Posted 2 July 2025 (edited) Brownhill might help us get promoted but he's another one of those players that is for the Championship, but nowhere near Prem quality. We'll be stuck with him if we get promoted and we'll just be straight back down again with a team consisting of probably at most 3 Prem level players. Can see this just being up, down, up, down for the next few years. Discover some youth, build for the future! What's the reason Burnley don't want to renew his contract? We saw what happened when we took all of Southamptons rejects. Edited 2 July 2025 by adejo92 1
RedSoxUK Posted 2 July 2025 Posted 2 July 2025 We're going to need midfielders as expect Ndidi, Soumare, and maybe Winks are off.

We saw what happened when we took all of Southamptons rejects. Discover some youth that we can afford, who wants to come here, who are good enough for the Championship that can progress to PL level and be sold for a healthy profit. Easy peasy! Obviously, that would be the ideal situation but you are completely minimising the practicality of it. Not to mention, there is no guarantee that, that player will fulfill any of that. Someone like Brownhill is a much safer bet right now. We KNOW he is good enough at this level. He might not be PL level but you are sat dead set in the middle of the desert worried about crossing bridges. Let's get out of THIS league first and worry about the next step when we get there. ...and Burnley DID offer him a new deal, according to pretty much any report out there. 1

I’d steer clear I agree, he far from perfect but currently I just don’t see where there goals are coming from. if he can bag 12 next year from midfield it takes pressure off any sort vardy replacement as well as wingers.

Also we have lost the experience of Vardy and looks like Coady will leave so could do with one or two leaders to come in and help the younger players and Brownhill has been Burnley captain, so all in all makes sense. 2

lcfc sheff Posted 6 July 2025 Posted 6 July 2025 https://fbref.com/en/players/f2bf1b0f/Che-Adams mind you maybe I’m wrong!
FrankieADZ Posted 6 July 2025 Posted 6 July 2025 tbf hes a leicester lad, and in all honesty i think hed be a decent addition if he was to come here, think hes a leicester fan too(not 100% on that tho)

Scotch Posted 6 July 2025 Posted 6 July 2025 I don't see anything in the Che Adams pic. He's a Leicester lad, I imagine he's home visiting before going back to Italy. If he were to sign, I wouldn't be too keen on it. He's not a natural goalscorer and would cost a decent amount for what he is.
RedSoxUK Posted 6 July 2025 Posted 6 July 2025 Definitely want Che Adams, local, moved up from non-league, did very well in Martin's Southampton side and they missed him, quite clearly a top end championship, low end PL player. Loan with obligation if promoted? with a big fat Italian loan fee. Imagine he's got a release clause around £10-15m Not many can match our salary offer tbh 4
dbtcity Posted 6 July 2025 Author Posted 6 July 2025 Torino owe us a few loans with option to buy deals
scinnell Posted 6 July 2025 Posted 6 July 2025 (edited) I'd take Che Adams especially with him having that Leicester connection, but we run the risk of having too many good championship players without the potential to make the step up to the prem e.g Winks, Skipp, Mavididi, Hamza, Thomas etc Edited 6 July 2025 by scinnell
Aleksz Posted 6 July 2025 Posted 6 July 2025 Che lived in Hinckley whilst playing for Birmingham, he’s linked to a move back there so is probably looking to move home again. 1

I highly doubt Birmingham will be signing any more strikers. They have Stansfield, Dykes, May and have just signed Kyogo. Tyler Roberts there as well.

teblin Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 Don't think there is anything in this, but would have Che Adams as an option upfront in this division.
Stadt Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 (edited) 16 goals and 4 assists in 25 Championship nineties in 23/24 - I'd take him all day long. His PL and Serie A record is basically 1 in 3. Would just have to be mindful of the contract length as he's 29 this week. Edited 7 July 2025 by Stadt 1
honeybradger Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 (edited) People would seriously take Josh Brownhill and Che Adams? Che Adams is NOT rated by Southampton fans in the slightest, why do our fans think they know him better? He's also 29 and going to be looking for moderately high wages, we need to learn our lesson on these players. Josh Brownhill is the same, 29 and looking for one last big contract. Do our fans not see the ability the likes of Monga, Page and Alves have? All who are looking to break through in Brownhill's position, imagine we lose out on the opportunity to develop some of England's best talents (yes you heard that correctly, Page and Monga are undeniably two of England's biggest talents) for Josh Brownhill. It's almost like half the posters on here are Rudkin in disguise. Coady, Winks, Corodva Reid, Ayew were all touted as 'sensible' transfers on here not long ago, now we cant wait to see the back of them. We need to be draining the swamp to give a pathway to our academy talents, not filling it up. Also Brownhill is nowhere near the level of KDH, who still got pelters on here in the 23/24 season for his inconsistent touch. KDH is a far better ball carrier and passer, I think our fans will be surprised by how limited Brownhill is in comparison. Edited 7 July 2025 by honeybradger
