Us, Roma, Wolves, and Forest interested in Ben Godfrey at Atalanta

Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Leicester make ‘concrete’ approaches – Player open to PL move, manager give ‘green light’

Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City are chasing Atalanta’s Ben Godfrey.

That’s according to ASRomaLive.it, and they cover the Premier League trio and AS Roma’s interest in the defender.

The centre-back joined the Europa League winners from Everton in the summer window and has struggled for regular game time. To put it in context, he clocked in 67 minutes from four games and two of those appearances were in August.

Atalanta are willing to open the exit door as manager Gian Piero Gasperini has ‘already given green light’ for his departure, most likely in the winter market. Roma are aware but haven’t yet taken necessary steps to sign the defender.

The former Everton man is keen on leaving La Dea and the report says he could prioritise a move back to the Premier League. This would be an advantage for Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Leicester as all three clubs have already made ‘concrete’ enquires.

With Gasperini giving the green light, it’s possible the Reds, Wolves and the Foxes have contacted Godfrey’s camp. It’s not mentioned whether the three English clubs are looking to take him on loan or a permanent transfer.

Tough one this. Despite a couple of England caps he's not good enough for Everton or Atalanta... Not sure he's really the answer to any of the Lower half Prem teams issues.

Not being good enough for Atalanta isn't too damning, they're top of Serie A atm. You're right with Everton though, not sure many of the fans rated him.

Better than what we have, and cheap no doubt.

Think they paid 10 million for him in the summer, so I'm not sure he will be that cheap.

There are better options that would cost less like Boscagli who RVN has worked with before.

I see the Congerton effect is now impacting on Atalanta. Ben Godfrey is rubbish.

Lookman…

I’m no congerton fan but I’m assuming our own scouts will have done there homework

https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/giorgi-chakvetadze-development-amid-premier-league-interest-watford-fc/

Premier League trio Everton, Leicester City and Wolves are taking admiring glances at Watford's Giorgi Chakvetadze but are wary of the high price tag that the Hornets are planning to place upon him, Football League World can exclusively reveal.

The Georgian international has been in excellent form for Watford this season, and despite only signing a new deal at Vicarage Road in September, he could well attract interest from elsewhere in January.

However, with a contract until 2029, interested clubs can expect to fork out a hefty fee for Watford's main asset, and it's previously been reported by The Sun that the Hornets would demand £20million for the Georgian's signature.

Am I missing something? Granted I don't watch Watford but his record this season is 1 goal in 20 games.  Ok, that means he's already surpassed last seasons 1 goal and 3 assists but his stats alone are not screaming out £20mill for someone who plays as an attacking mid or winger.

Or is he another Bilal?

Congerton left Atalanta after last seasons winter window. Played no part in this summer.

He's currently spending Saudi cash at Al Ahli.

Ivan Toney his only purchase so far.

My mother supports Watford and I have to say, I’ve fallen in love with Giorgi Chakvetadze this season.

Adding more goals and assists is the only thing missing from his game. When it comes to ball-carrying ability he is an absolute joke, he is the best player in the Championship when it comes to that attribute.

Watford have been very smart in recent months, giving the likes of Chakvetadze, Baah and Pollock new contracts knowing full well they’ll be worth 15-20 million in a year or two if they develop like they have been doing.
