Matt Piper hit the nail on the head

Huth & Morgan would get head to ball and put their bodies on the line

I think we all agree Vestergaard is not that,

i don't know how tall he is but at least Choudhurrry would have competed for it.

Even putting Iheanacho on to defend set pieces

For future put Ben Nelson or Blunt on the bench.

Who is Blunt?

This team needs the steel spine putting back into it for next season ...   we need gritty vocal leaders ...  and at the moment we have none playing.    If we get Tarky that would be a great start ..  with Kasper Tarkyovski Evans Wilf and Vardy through the centrer we'd be looking good.   A new 'bite your legs' type midfielder would be a bonus.   Too often we are bullied and intimidated on the pitch.

Choudhury wouldn’t have competed for it, neither would prime Morgan or Huth if they’d just been shoved over by Kasper.

Vestegaard is crap, but he was not at fault for the goal. Schmeichel and Amartey were.

Choudhury was actually on the pitch when Dawson did the same thing at watford a few years ago.

The argument I would have is whether or not it was right to take off youri so late in the game. A little bit of more control and maybe we wouldnt have been conceding corners.  Who knows, we just seem doomed that whatever we do, the mentality in our squad is so weak that we would have ended up conceding

Corners are Kaspers achilles heel, he flaps around like a headless chicken, doesn't command his box and rarely makes a clean punch on the ball. One on ones, reflex saves and shot stopping there aren't many better.

We know that and so do the opposition. Nothing has changed in all the time he has been here. Without the physical presence of Huth and Morgan even though as footballers they may have had limitations there is no way we would have won the League .

There's still life in the old dogs ..  supplies us with what we need next season and buys time to replace ....  a new creative hard nut in midfield using the Youri cash would really help.   Our younger players (eg Thomas Maddison Barnes) would really benefit from a commanding vocal midfield presence.

Absolutely this. What is he playing at? Time and time again everyone points fingers at the defenders - but he’s a defender as well. He’s got other amazing characteristics, but this is looking like a fatal flaw now.

Kasper wouldn’t be shoving either Huth or Morgan.

That corner yesterday is easy pickings for most keepers. It’s so annoying that Kasper doesn’t deal with corners, he’s not confident whatsoever when a ball is whipped into his area. He has no idea how to deal with it which most of the time ends up in a goal.

In his comfort zone with Stowell not challenging him to improve. Always looking to blame the defenders

Evans is finished I think. He might get fit again, but I don't think he'll be fit enough to start every week. I started a thread in November 2020 questioning his form. Some agreed, some said he had been injured. That's nearly 18 months ago. He was injured again towards the end of last season, lasted a very short time in the cup final and hasn't been seen since. So these injuries have been almost constant for 2 years now since mid 2020. At his age, and with persistent injuries I don't see him getting back to any level of prolonged fitness.

Evans was a signing master stroke, but he’s coming to the end of his career and we can’t count on him as a first team player now. Soyuncu seems to have lost confidence and is a shadow of the player he was when he broke through. We don’t know how long Fofana will take to return to full fitness and form. The rest are at best a mixture of second choice and players out of position.

Badly need new signings in the summer and perhaps some different coaching if our defensive problems are to be solved.
