*This was Rander's cup final.

*The pitch was awful.

The home leg possibly saw us to be 'not on it'.

*No further injuries.

*3 nice goals.

*A win without playing well (the reverse of last Sunday).

*injured player's back soon.

I'm trying to remain positive, in what has been a car crash of a season & more.

Controlled the game once Perez came on.

I'm sure being sarcastic but he always gives 100% even when he's not playing that well. Not so sure about some of the others.

Confidence boosting big win away at Randers, but really it was papering over the cracks.

Positives:

Schmeichel had a really good performance and I think I even saw him come for a corner twice and once he even caught it

Amartey – Vestergaard, actually kept a defensive line

Tielemans was fining a pass

Barnes scored and deserved his goal.

Maddison, wow what a free kick and his performance including his 2nd goal after that free kick.

Choudhary showed effort with his attacking and defensive runs after he came on

We took our chances

Negatives:

Vestergaard is very poor with the ball

Thomas went to ground to tackle to quickly and I thought his was decision making was poor today, but he is still learning

Ndidi very poor with the ball, he appears not to be playing the Ball-Winning role he used to

Maddison before his free kick, really poor, soft and uninterested

Iheanacho just looks low on confidence and his touch was below bar – needs more game time

Rodgers tactics were poor, dropping deep and increasing the pressure on ourselves when not needed.

We still just pass it between centre backs too often and with Amartey and Vestergaard it never looks comfortable

Gave away far too many chances

Great summary. Agree with most of the things you said. Particular highlights for me were:

- Ndidi was VERY poor. Against a League One side, he still goes into hiding with making himself available for a pass and when he was on the ball, he was just very poor. Pass selection was also poor. Overall, not worth putting him in the side even though he does help out sometimes defensively and even on this side of things he is inconsistent and reckless at times.

- Nacho sadly very poorly managed up to now and looked short in confidence indeed. He cannot play as a lone striker.

- Barnes, Lookman and Nacho just did not gel and played as individuals rather than as a team.

- Tactics very poor. We have no offensive rhythm. No pushing and moving together as a team. We scored only from 3 pieces of individual brilliance. We cannot rely on this (as shown this season) as we can be easily shut out. We lack ideas. We just pass in the same slow build up manner - so predictable and easily defendable. This is a fundamental issue.

- Our defenders pretending to be Barca players with their football skills playing from the back just does not work. Any other team would have scored 5 from the mistakes we made today at the back.

- Vesty, oh dear. I wanted to say something good. He did win a few headers, but he just looked so shaky. Thomas as well today but at least it looked like he just had an off day. Vesty just looked like himself. I feel that if we had bought another CB instead of him after the Fofana injury, we may not have performed as bad this season.

Overall, crap tactics against a League One side and we matched them playing Sunday level football.

Bored of going into reasons why Rodgers needs to go, so will just go with “absolute sh***” copy and paste job from now on to save me time and effort

And just remind me who you suggest as his replacement?

Changing manager for Villa and Everton has worked so well!

Context of the opposition helps

Did what we needed to do.Unfortunately winning a game does not suit the narrative for many on here.

Rodgers admits ball possession wasn't good enough in first half.

lol The bloke on the chase just before the game started could have seen that and he was with his guide dog.

Played like there was no midfield

Against better opposition would’ve be punished.
Fortunate and 1-3 flatters us

Our finishing was clinical which is another positive. Maddison was as brilliant in the 2nd half as he was a poor in the 1st half.

But Ndidi, what a poor performance. Gave the ball away so many times and his tackling lacked so much conviction. I really think he either plays at CB or shouldn't be in the team currently as he doesn't offer protection to the back four.

Highlights how important KDH is to the team as well, he's our engine in the middle of the park.

Credit to Randers for their work off the ball, they set an example to us.

Got through with ease in first gear but the signs are still there. Against better opposition we would have been punished, let’s be honest. Positives: getting through without injury concerns and push onto the next round.

Scoreline is flattering, happy with the win but not sure it gives us much of the confidence boost Rodgers would have wanted. Clean sheet would have been nice but lucky not to concede 5.

Yes because stats are more important than the result.Stats were good on Sunday and got us nowhere and I would have thought they were good against Hammers but did not win. Tonight was job done, does not have to be pretty.

I think we're much better balanced when either Albrighton or Perez play on the right as it's their preferred side and they both work hard defensively.
