Anyone know how many tickets sold now . This is a longer general sale than normal . I recon the club are using it as a bit of a test event . As the did say they'd like to have more members/ general sale tickets available. When the ground is redeveloped.

Be good to have a hard core of 30,000 then another 20,000 casual attendees that are in a habit of going fairly regularly.

We said that in 97 when we couldn't sell out for a League Cup semi.

Build it and they will come, especially as it means they'll be able to add a couple of thousand STHs

Allied to which individual match tickets and memberships are pricey in comparison to the cheaper season tickets.  So many would buy the season ticket on top of the 23k we already have, or share with family/friend etc.

People want to fill their leisure time, Football is a massive non work outlet/passion/release & the process e.g. meet mates/few beers b4 the game, few after etc.  Away trips etc.

The amount of times my mates have said lets stay in the pub, have they been wrong-Brighton, Spurs at home etc!!:D:mad:

A "demographic cleanse" has been going on for the best part of a decade but not in the direction some on here would lead you to believe 👍

My feeling is the club will have to advertise the fact. For years (excluding COVID), most of the other parents at my sons' school were under the assumption tickets were impossible to get; and they aren't really ever going to go to enough games to justify a membership.

I realize 25 percent is a huge increase, but the club is selling out league matches with 0 marketing. It might be having problems with cup matches, but it doesn't aggressively market them either.

When Tigers were doggo, Welford was visiting the school twice a term and they were offering deals through the schools. City has never done that, even with their problems filling the Family Stand.

Getting 20k "occasional" fans means them knowing they can regularly get tickets to the occasional game, and that idea just doesn't exist anymore (the only ones who do seem aware are coked up university students.)

One issue leicester doesn't have is selling out the family stand. Infact it's part of the reason they need to expand, there's a huge section of the family stand all turning 18 and at that point they have to be offered season tickets elsewhere. Seats that don't exist.

The reason the Family Stand was reduced is because of problems selling out the Family Stand. They had a focus group meeting on it earlier in the season.

I spent two hours on a Zoom chat with club marketing people looking for ways to get more people in the Family Stand!

Yes, people are aging out, but there aren't enough child Members, so there isn't a pool to draw new Family Stand ST holders (it is how my family got our STs after we lost on the ballot.)

The family stand has literally been halved this season as they couldnt sell it out

I used to be on the fcc - on many occasions Susan seemed keen to encourage kids - but as with most other  aspect of life it is stacked against them - and Susan's enthusiasm didn't change what the clubs does (NB: FCC meetings were never about consultation - more about "telling")  An LCFC shirt with Vardy 9 from the shop on is twice the cost of an LFC shirt at sports direct.  My daughter school friends would love to see Leicester play - fat chance of a ticket.  This is why the European games have a had a good atmosphere.... coz kids can get in.

Season ticket holders are on the older side - many younger folk will not commit to 20 games per year.  Yet the club cant understand why a family stand cant sell out.  The club need to call of their retail department and sort out ticketing in favour of kids.  The kids are the supporters of the futurer.

Well I must have missed something then as I know it was reduced but my understating from the FCC was that it was to free up seats for those out growing the family stand. As I say when you relocate a portion of season ticket holders but can't can't sell the seats they vacate because of the 23k cap then you have an issue

Also there was the issue surrounding having families bang next to the away end. Causing issues

I apologies if this isn't the case but this again would raise the issue of match day pricing. When you are season ticket holder in that area its free upto a certain age, making it affordable to more, when you start charging matchday prices you make it much more difficult, wouldn't be shocked if the family stand was increased again once they can offer a higher number of season tickets.

They basically cut it in half and that meant my kids tickets went up in price significantly as I didn’t want to move seats again. P and P1 are now no longer part of the family stand. If they continue on this route I think they will really struggle to encourage a new generation of fans as it is hard enough parents who are already season ticket holders looking to bring their kids to premier league matches. Just my opinion of course.

Oh I completely agree. That's a bit shocking.

I've always been happy to pay for my lads as I didn't want to move from SK1 when I stated taking him and at 50 quid and now 90 a few quid a month is nothing. But I'm aware there's some big price jumps coming as he gets older and it's definitely  ot ideal for many.

Definitely sounds like it needs a re think.

During the Family Stand discussion, I think there were about 30 of us. As far as the ideas for growing the Family Stand ST base they seemed to be bandying about was to allow current ST holders to get ST's for the kids. It seems there are a bunch of people who bought ST's when they were single, but now have families. Another issue was night games, and allowing people to transfer the tickets to adults on games beginning after 7 pm (which is what Tigers does.)

But possibly pushing some sort of Family Membership policy would hopefully get some families in line for ST's when they become available with the expansion, and any future expansion.

I want to move back to the Kop but just no room for 5 of us ha. Hey ho.

They halved the family stand because lots of parents and kids were and are choosing to sit elsewhere in the ground, thus it was leaving a situation where sometimes hundreds of tickets remained unsold in the family stand which couldn't then be sold to adult members. Obviously this situation was worse for evening matches. I sit in P1 and there are still lots of kids around, so I wouldn't worry too much about the future.

Apparently the black card offer was open to the last two rounds of the Europa conference as well. Just heard from a mate who is a black card holder.

Yes it was and they could get 6 tickets each time too, it's inexcusable. I hope this isn't brushed under the carpet, huge own goal in season of Frank Sinclair's.

Disgusting isn't it. Not just a "one off community engagement deal." Imagine if they had done this for the semi final or even the final as well. I can believe the club have tried to sweep it under the carpet by staying quiet.

If it were me I would allocate 50% (or some faction) of the seats for STs ( yes let existing STs move in if they buy extra kid STs).

The other half on sale to parties with kids.  If with 2 days to go seats not sold then put on general sale.
