Sound. Can they let people know who these partners and affiliates are? It appears they offer better value than paying for a membership with the club or buying direct, for example….

The bottom line is this. If the club really wanted to do ‘community engagement’ then there was a perfect opportunity with this game. All adult tickets £15 and all kids £10. Struggle to believe we’d fill the stadium less and make less money than 6 x tickets at £15 per Cool As Leicester card holders.

But it’s not about ‘community engagement’ is it, Jim? It’s about a certain demographic of consumer that you’ve seen an opportunity to try and get through the turnstiles. The same one that’s never the one who actually really needs a discount or one who’s loyally followed the club before.

Meanwhile, the mugs that have followed the club home and away stump up £25 each.

Probably more answers to your questions in @Yes N'Didi’s email draft so I’d just go with whatever he wrote. lol

....could it simply be the more successful we become, the more our supporters become selective in the games they come to watch!!!

Again absolute rubbish. So we’re so successful that people are choosing to stay away from European cup QF’s? How many of them have we played in?

....you would believe that a quarter final would be something that could sell out!!!

But with finance as it is and streaming, and Covid as a factor, you are not going to get the numbers you would expect. For some there is not a bottomless pit of money and they maybe choosing what is appropriate for themselves. You can't berate supporters for the choices they choose to make.

You hint at something here which is the crux of the matter for many

It seems that they’ve managed to put a response together now…

‘The Club has a small number of community and commercial affiliates with whom it runs limited offers and promotions as part of in-kind agreements that assist community engagement. Such offers are extended to a limited audience and are regularly reviewed to ensure the value they represent is appropriate.

Kind Regards

Jim’

If appropriate then I wonder why it was stopped, and I wonder whether it shall continue should we progress…

It was stopped because the code got out and was being used by people that weren’t supposed to have it.

Loose lips sink ships.

What does cool as Leicester mean? It’s a weird name for something, are they implying that they offer cool things which are cool like Leicester? Or is it a play on words like when people say “wow that’s cool as” and then just stuck Leicester on the end of that?

It's a business and probably very hard to work out the cut-off point for ticket sales.

£25 and we've currently sold 90%.

If you drop it by £5 is that really going to make another 3000 decide to go (overall cost of the night out will be well in excess of £20 when you add travel, food and beer).

£15 and you'll perhaps have them queuing up for tickets but the club may have lost 30% of income from ticket sales.

My wife's friends use the Cool as Leicester Black Card -- which it seems are available in limited numbers and in high demand -- the missus has never been able to get one -- and they are supposed to be a very, very good deal.

I have no problem, for the most part, for the club to have "a small number of community and commercial affiliates with whom it runs limited offers and promotions as part of in-kind agreements that assist community engagement." The so-called "Big Clubs" around the world do things like this all of the time (even if it is grating for those of us not getting the deal.) It is much easier to do this kind of thing for cup games, for obvious reasons.

I have a huge problem with it being done in such an amateur hour way: A non-exclusive code that anyone can enter if they get their hands on it??? They should apologize profusely, and offer a partial refund to STH's who bought tickets when first offered. I think the first might happen, but am not holding my breath on the second.

The amusing thing is: I bought tickets day one for me and a friend (who for the night has the same name as my wife). His wife actually has the Black Card, so he is doubly upset!

I haven't heard anyone say they're not going due to the club pushing this family atmosphere, restrictions and curbing any enthusiasm.

We play a lot more games than we used to, they're not included in your ST so when times are hard some people start to limit the number of games they attend.

Currently looks as if we've sold 90% of tickets, sure a few more will sell before next Thursday.

£25 for the quarter finals of a european trophy, I'm happy with that.

£25 for the quarter final and you are happy with it. That’s good.

How would you feel to have paid £15 instead? That is what you could have paid if you were the friend of a person who owns one of these cool cards.

So season tickets holders and members who go regular pay considerably more than any randomer who owns or knows anyone with these cards. These could be Liverpool, United fans or even people with no interest in football.
So real Leicester fans sat in a seat next to a local United glory hunter who probably deep down wants PSV to win and the United fan has paid half the price.

And people seem surprised why this has pissed off so many people.

You really are looking for any reason to have a go at the club aren't you.

If Leicester fans aren't willing to pay £25 for the game just how many Liverpool, Man U or even people with no interest in football do you think will stump up £15?

You're making assumptions and putting them forward as facts.

I agree it is bad PR and bad planning from city's useless non football management, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest that someone has paid a different amount. Same as a flight, never ask the person next to you what they paid

Ah, the elasticity of demand! An age old question!

Comparing the economic impacts of war, inflation and country level dealings to a ticket office **** up is a bit off here Stan mate

My point to you in this instance is regarding the half price tickets to some  but not other possibly more deserving 'customers' of a discount. Surely you can't defend that?

A lot of your other posts on various subjects I agree with.

Hope this clarifies.

I can't say its fair but as I said it regularly happens and doesn't suprise me. I'm a bit suprised people don't think it goes on all the time to be honest.

Someone has literally posted an article to prove there's more demand for leicester games than the vast majority of other clubs, and there's  huge waiting line for season tickets, but no, @K1FOX knows the stadium is going to 75% full because there's a cardboard clapper on seats.

If people are going to get irate about this Id hate to see what happens when they realise footballers get their boots for free.
