200 Black cards or 200 half price tickets? If the latter then not worth the grief. Nothing to see here.

200 Black cards. The problem wasn't 200 people getting a deal on tickets; the problem was that deal being accessed through a non-exclusive code that could then be shared out. Just a major error by the ticketing office.

It's insulting.

Genuine, eager fans of the club are milked but folk with an events ticket that just fancy a jolly are rewarded. Not at all fair.

This is the crux of what my e-mail to the club was about, really.

I don't mind introductory offers to try and get people supporting the club, and get them enticed and invested. But don't shaft loyal fans so much and so deceptively. They could have carried this offer out but still also given something to the regular ST fans at some point too.

That's how it reads to me; just a lack of forethought in the issuing of the promo code, for which the club have to acknowledge mea culpa.

I've no problems with these sorts of cards at all. Personally, I don't bother with them (what good is 5% off at Lush to me? I don't even use soap, let alone scented stuff!) but do see that others would deliberately shop somewhere because of the discount offered.

Maybe the club were a little too generous? I don't know, but I see the 'community involvement' aspect of it. It's a gateway card to attract customers that may not otherwise go to games. I get that.

I also get the anger and disappointment of fans, it must feel unjust. There's always a cut-off somewhere though, be it price point or offers etc. Ultimately the ground could sell out and people will miss out.

Can’t believe my missus didn’t tell

me about this half price tickets offer, I just found out she has a bloody black card after telling her about this

Now you're thinking back to all times it was her round.  Probably cost her 50p 🤣

It's a seedy way of doing business isn't it?

.....I think the problem is not the number but the principle, one such ticket will be one too many!!!

I don't mind the code -- I don't even mind the 6 per card, since at most it was going to be 1200 fans, if they played by the rules, and none of the previous games on offer sold out. I mind the utter incompetence of the ticketing office, and the lazy code method. For goodness sake, make them come into the shop at least (maybe they'd kit up for the match.)

Main problem is they will go out their way to make it easier for the ‘ideal customer’ in their eyes. Ideal customer is someone who will now and in the future spend money on hospitality, merchandise etc. Give them a code at checkout and the process is so easy.

On the other hand they will go out their way to make it difficult for a certain demographic of fan. Crazy that some don’t see it.

What a madness from the club this all is lol. Hope people have bought into the idea of the section for PSV anyway and its bouncing, L1 too.

The clubs quite rightly getting heat for this, but make no mistake, I'll say Palace at home, they'll announce free beer and donuts to "thank everyone for their magnificent recent support", everyone will lap it up again saying how great they are, and all this will be brushed under the carpet. They've got the sheep that follow this club down to a tee

Tbh, i wouldn't mind a free donut and beer! It's also been a while since we got freebies in the seats (scarves, flags, etc.) Buy me off, Top!

Given it's around Vichai's birthday, and it's what they usually do, then so be it. No one is saying this debacle will be forgotten. But you can still enjoy some freebies from the club...?

Either way it won't affect how they will continue to sell tickets so may as well grin and bear it and get fat in the process. :P

Matchday With The Manager – The Supporters' Role In The Stands

Brendan Rodgers believes an emphatic home crowd can help Leicester City lay the foundations for further progression in Thursday's UEFA Europa Conference League Quarter-Final first leg tie against Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

Filbert Way will be packed out on Thursday for the visit of PSV and Rodgers hopes the Blue Army can generate the kind of atmosphere which now defines the memory of other European occasions on home soil from years gone by.

"We don’t have a rich history in European football, so to be in a quarter-final of any European competition is a real occasion," the 49-year-old explained. "The supporters are brilliant here so they’ll be behind the team, creating a really special atmosphere – and we’ll need that.

If Sheeran can get away with it, it's worth a shot.
