Well those reports were right so I highly doubt our board were caught cold about the Fofana transfer.

Well I hope its happening because it needs too.

You might have a point if it were the start of the window and we weren’t suffering from defensive issues but we are just over 3 days out from the end of it so every minute and second counts - we’ve learned that the hard way before.

Fofana has been sent to the US for his medical and might not complete until midweek… perhaps those “reports” might set alarm bells ringing.

Well they didn’t reach out reported demands did they.

Because it was widely reported that Chelsea were determined and would eventually reach Leicesters valuation if they had too.

Have we made enquires though? There doesnt seem anything concrete.

Yes I am moaning, we are selling our best defender late in the window after signing no one all summer on the back of our worst start to a season in years. Its been 3 days since a fee was agreed and a few weeks since Chelseas interest was known, we should be at a similar stage with a replacement ourselves with such little time left in the window.

Be patient. The fax machine has been serviced. The Transfer Pigeon has been seen in test flight mode. The Recruitment Team are due back in the office tomorrow after the Bank Holiday. So thy have 72 hours to save this Club.

He’s been fit and playing for months, its an extremely rare occurrence that a player fails a medical in these circumstances. So i don’t see the point here?

But we still agreed to sell so they met a valuation we were happy to agree too. Which by all accounts was reported for nearly two weeks.

The club have had plenty of time to get something sorted and still nothing. We all know deep down whats going to happen, it’ll be some cast offs on loan on deadline day because we are too skint for anything else.

Its about time the club came clean and said that we need to dial back expectations for the next few years to concentrate on the financial health of the club, people would be a lot less nervous that way. Instead we just get contradictory reports from trusted journos.

The point is, until it’s done and we get confirmation it’s done, we can’t buy anyone.

You made our reports are accurate and everyone knew. But the reports were wrong weren’t they.

Rodgers has said that already.

Surely if the club have agreed a deal they can then go and start making bids as they know the money is coming in. It would be beyond amateurish to wait until the transfer is finalised before going and finding a replacement.

You dont agree to sell your house and then wait until the deal closes before you bid on a new one. Its a similar principle, you know you’ve got money coming so you can go and make offers because thats exactly what they are, offers. You don’t pay offers up front. You can also agree deals on principle.

And the reports were accurate, you can argue details all you want but the basics were that Chelsea wanted Fofana and they were willing to meet Leicesters valuation - which they have as a deal has been agreed.

They could have already made bids for f**** sake. You are the one moaning we haven’t signed anyone.

Our reported want was £85m, so no, the reports weren’t right then were they.

Why the hell do you presume that because you don’t know, something isn’t happening. It’s a beyond moronic standpoint, so I’m out.

I said I was moaning and I made my points as to why I was moaning. Its my opinion that with how the summer has gone and how the season has started the club should have had something lined up already to

mitigate the constant streams of bad news. The whole club needs a lift and the PR this summer has been a disaster.

The longer it goes on the closer it gets to panic buy territory and we know how well thats worked in the past.

And again you’re arguing details, each source/report quoted a different price to what we wanted. To put it extremely simply for you the basics were that we had a valuation and Chelsea were going to meet it eventually which is exactly what has happened. The fact that Chelsea/Fofana dicked around for a few weeks should have given the club a head start.

That might well still be the case and they have a replacement well at hand but the longer it goes on the more you think just like how the rest of the summer has gone is that the club actually have no willingness to spend any money.

Aka. I don’t have a clue, I’m just going to moan anyway.

Well isn’t that the point of a forum like this? Not many of us have much of a clue so we put forward opinions and ideas.

I’ve never proclaimed I have a clue or that i’m an expert. Just forming an opinion based on whats happened and is currently happening.

I want to be wrong by the way, i want the club to sign a good replacement and strengthen other areas of the pitch but I cant see it happening at this moment in time.

The recent evidence supports your position in the debate but people on here , at leat some of them, will defend their personal narrative to the death. That's fine with me , events provide the final answer.

So you just want to get excited about a name being mentioned. Come on.

Of course it’s last minute, we’ve had our hand forced by a petulant shite. But then we knew what we were buying as he was a petulant shite to move here.

But you don’t just click your fingers and make things happen.

We turned down Chelsea bids weeks ago.

With Mahrez he went on strike and we still forced it to the next summer.

How do you know what they knew? You have absolutely no idea if they thought they’d get close to what they wanted. And until it’s done, all you can do is make enquiries, which we will have been doing. He hasn’t even gone yet ffs, and you are moaning we haven’t got a replacement already ffs.

It's called "contingency planning".  The board will have known there was a distinct possibility of Fofana leaving and should have had definite plans in place - or else we have an extremely inept board.  Hopefully those plans are in place and well-advanced but being kept very much under the radar, else we are in deep doo-doos.

Right, I don’t think you understand. Of course they have been thinking about it, that’s MY bloody argument. But, the player hasn’t been sold yet and people are moaning we haven’t signed a god damn replacement yet. We are unlikely to sign anyone until after he’s confirmed at Chelsea.

We have a whole department whose literal jobs are to plan for this stuff. We’d of had a list drawn up before we even got a bid.

And? Again, you don’t seem to get it. We won’t even have waited for a bid to draw up lists that’s an ongoing process, the second we got a bid we’d have started reevaluating who was no longer available. Once it started looking remotely likely we’d have started putting the feelers out with agents and clubs, we might have even already bid on people. But we aren’t going to sign someone until he’s confirmed.

Its not easy, it’s late in the window and it’s quite possible we don’t end up with anyone in our original list and not the quality we desired. But to moan because a) there aren’t rumours (despite three names already being mentioned b) moan people aren’t doing there job (when you have no idea they aren’t and it’s massively bloody unlikely they aren’t) and c) moan we haven’t signed anyone, is, well it’s frankly ridiculous.

According to the manager we were led to believe that he convinced players to join this summer but there was no money.

Now there is money there are still no signings and considering the managers comments it should have been pretty straight forward to pull the trigger.

And the my point is considering the summer the club has had. There should have been more of an effort to get ahead of selling your best asset. Instead we are rock bottom with a manager who is fed up, players who are fed up and a fanbase that is fed up.

Yes its massively impatient but patience and time are both running out.

Honestly, this is just ridiculous. Some common sense please.

He can spend all summer giving them back rubs to get them here if he wants. But they might already have gone elsewhere, or no longer be available. We me be scrambling down the list of potentials because of that.

And at the risk of sounding like a parrot. The player has not been sold yet, we still have no money. So even if said player was still available, we wouldn’t have signed them yet anyway.

The fofana deal isn't complete, so we aren't going to complete deal until that is.

Thats not to say we haven't got deals ready to go.

We can't spend 40-50m for Chelsea to change their mind at the 11th hour.

So the club need to come clean about the true state of the finances because they won’t even risk committing any money when there is a 95% chance of the club getting at least £65 million pounds of income.

With how badly they’ve unsettled Fofana and how many bids they’ve made over the past few weeks they won’t be changing their mind.

I hope there is deals lined up but with how desperate everyone associated with the club is for a tiny bit of good news you’d have thought the club would have been on the ball with this.

The players need it as much as the fans, the club are showing a huge lack of ambition at the minute.
