Get him for a nicely subsidised wage, then if he's any good he'll only have a year left, so write off what they owe us on Youri. And then he can get a contract on under 100k cos he aint getting better than that elsewhere.

Then onto Champions League glory...  Somehow related!

They have the biscuits, we have the cheese.

To get him in, some one will have to leave

There is a player there, but it hasn't come off for him at Arsenal. I think Mourinho's misgivings about this transfer has been proven more or less correct. Mourinho on Pepe - I believe he is quite short on confidence, and he might feel that going back to France is a safer bet to get his career back on track.

For us, it is all about getting his wages covered, and hopefully be able to sell him next season after a successful loan spell. By all accounts, he is professional, never complains, but he hasn't managed to adapt.

He's absolute shite, insane how much he cost, probably one of the worst signings in Premier League history. Every time I've watched him he's looked Championship level. He'll demand ridiculous money, too.

If this is the sort of signing we're looking at we really are screwed.

When you look at the transfer fee, it is a disaster signing really. That isn't really Pepe's fault though. Raul lost his job over this transfer, and rightly so....

Who the f**# would choose Nice over Leicester? I mean c'mon, seriously?

I was reading this thinking fair point, fair point. Then as I scrolled away, I suddenly got the joke!

A bit left field but Tielemans to Arsenal for £20m plus Pepe on loan for a season with an option for another on subsidized wages? Arsenal may be interested to bet on Pepe getting some minutes here and raising his potential transfer value? As for us, we don’t need to spend anything upfront while limiting downside risk if he turns out to be a dud here as well?

He’s off to Nice.

We won’t play ball in low balling with Tielemans, so Arsenal aren’t exactly in kinder to be doing business with us either I’d imagine.

I can't see this. It would go against the profile of signing we normally go for.

We need hungry players on the way up, not the way down.

What, like Fofana and Tielemans, both now wanting out?

Yes, because despite now wanting to leave they have been integral players for us and might generate over £100M in transfer fees.

Tielemans was the similar kind of signing- rough diamonds as Rodgers would say.
