Another reject from the PL, when did that last work for us?

Schmeichel, Huth rejected by Chelsea, Albrighton on a free, Simpson won a league title, Drinkwater before and after, Vardy rejected from Championship. Sure I'm missing some

Just because those worked out means this one will?

No, not at all. I don't think we should sign CHO but I'm not against signing players that aren't getting a game in big 6 sides.

How does he have 3 England caps lol can’t remember him playing never mind  scoring for Chelsea

He has had a good season, can’t remember which, but definitely did

Compared with money , not much at all. A loan , if he is interested , might work if we split the pay 50/50. He will want to play though , so who stands down? I cannot see a place for him when Barnes is fit.

....surely he is an RW and as such allows us to play 4-2-3-1, even if Barnes is fit or not!!!

No, our recruitment policy has gone so backwards. I don’t get why we are tabling large money for mediocre PL players. We have been so successful over the years because we have picked up talented players from obscure leagues, this just seems lazy.

Every young English player who is or has been at Chelsea gets caps for England thanks to Steve Holland being Southgate's assistant. It's how Mount was fast tracked ahead of Maddison, and the likes of CHO, Tomori, Gallagher, Guehi, James, etc have all followed.

well they were responding to when was the last time one worked out.

Plenty of these deals work out all the time. I’d argue almost everytime chelsea are involved to be quite honest.

Zouma, Broja, gallagher, tomori, guehi, abraham, livramento. Theses are just from the last season or 2 all of them turned out to be solid. The argument that this won’t be good because they aren’t in chelsea’s plans couldn’t be more flawed.

what makes me laugh is that if this was a player from barca, or athleti’s bench… we would be getting excited about it. They are probably both worse than chelsea are

Too be honest I don't think we would be an attractive place for him now. He has stated he wants to play wide left and Tuchel wants him at RWB. Barnes would have to step aside and he would not entertain being a stand in for Harvey. He would also need his 6-7 million a year and you can bet your bottom dollar Chelsea won't be helping us on that. The only way we get a player like him is paying the top rate that others won't match.

Can’t see Chelsea letting us have him even if just on loan if we don’t sell them Fofarna

We've let them have Kante, Drinkwater and Chilwell already. They clearly like signing players from us, and we could always refuse to do business with them ever again if they won't sell us one of their players. No skin off our nose.

Yeah, Bayern and Dortmund are terrible at judging talent…

😂 So no one then, they don't really fit your agenda

What are you on about, He said he likes to work with talented players who've lost their way.

He did sign both of them and no he has hasn't managed to get them to offer anything to the cause.

Now we're saddled with two misfits we can't offload to anyone and they're taking up space in the squad

when we could have had two young players on the way up.

lol Bertrand was an aging left back to replace another aging left back. Vesty was a panic buy when Fofana got injured

Neither were players who'd "lost their way" and Rodgers flew in to rescue their careers

That's what Everton do signing players like Gray, Alli, Walcott, Rodriguez, Schneiderlin, Iwobi etc

Yes CHOs career has gone stale and he needs to move away from Chelsea but that's nothing like Bertrand and Vesty

You've given the reasons why we should never have went near either of them.

Granted Bertrand got injured but when he came back he still couldn't shift Thomas.

Injury aside, Clearly they have both lost there way or they would be playing in the Team.

I've handled hundreds of young players in my time in the game. I've seen lots of very talented players who never made it. Mostly self inflicted.

I've seen average players as juniors have good careers because they took it all very seriously knuckled down and worked hard.

KDH would be a good example, He's worked really hard to get where he is and good luck to him.

Players don't lose talent, only desire. Maybe Brendan can resurrect his career maybe he can't.

The point is, Can we really afford to take that chance in our current financial position.

Well we’re certainly not in the running for top notch finished articles at the moment. We pretty much take what we can get where there is potential or talent that has dimmed due to circumstances or confidence. Don’t think we can expect much else.
