What are they going to do? Get a steward to pat down a 6 year old at the turnstiles searching for pieces of paper or cardboard? Then rip it out a child’s hands if they see one?

You say that as if it's bad?

There are much poorer kids that come from families that can't afford to go to a PL match. They should be the ones to benefit.

and how does offering a shirt to the highest bidder help those kids exactly.. if the carers cant afford to go to a game, im guessing they arent on Ebay snapping up bargain shirts

The same way throwing a bucket of ice water over yourself, or growing a moustache in November helps people

Those things help organisations who have a targeted intent.. MND, cancer or whatever.

The $115 million in donations raised through the 2014 ALS Ice Bucket Challenge spurred a massive increase in The ALS Association’s capacity to invest in promising research, the development of assistive technologies, and increased access to care and services for people with ALS.

There isnt, for example, a "set your pubic hair on fire for common everyday poor people event"

.....That money is then used to invest in promising research and develop technologies. Wonderful and sadly due to scumbag tax cuts gutting the RnD of hospitals and charities essential... but it doesnt help a kid that just wants their hero's shirt or even a smile and a wave.

I was at a cup game last season when there was a family of 4 sat in front of me. The father was a little drunk and his young daughter had a sign for Vardy's shirt. He spent the whole match swearing at how rubbish the whole team were playing and forcibly making his daughter hold the sign up. She must have held it up for about 3/4 of the match.

Then in the 85th minute, he gets them all to leave to avoid the traffic lol.

Not sure if he was teaching his daughter a lesson or he was just too drunk to realise

If they were season ticket holders you should have told them at the next match that Vardy came over looking for them after the final whistle lol

Made me think again about whether I should after all produce my homemade Susan Whelan, can I have your blouse sign at the Brentford game.

For the Brentford game I’ve made a sign.

“ALL KIT & BOOT DONATIONS ACCEPTED

HOME & AWAY TEAMS”

Can you add “players” on it too

I wouldn’t ban it, I’d coordinate it so you know the shirts are going to kids and not some dickhead parent or guardian who’s going to slap it on eBay. Application process through the club. Random allocation of one of the eligible applicants.

Bit of a shame to lose some spontaneity but I think people sticking them up for sale are scum.
