What are they going to do? Get a steward to pat down a 6 year old at the turnstiles searching for pieces of paper or cardboard? Then rip it out a child’s hands if they see one?

It's a weird one this because it does annoy me but then I think is it really worth getting annoyed about lol

For every one that gets immediately put on eBay, there is a kid somewhere who is getting a kit from their hero and I'd feel bad to deny that from happening.

It's a clear fire hazard.

If a kid wants to ask and a player is OK to give a shirt then where's the problem?  I think it presents a nice moment of personal interaction between fans and players - something that there isn't enough of imo.

What if 50 kids create a similar sign? Who does the player give the shirt to?

Well that's up to the player isn't it? He can ignore it if he wants.

He should. It's the parents trying this on.

They already do. Sitting in the Family Stand (I know to be expected) but kids sit there for the whole match with their sign in the air, really weird.

Then at the end there's a mad rush of kids to the front jostling for position to get their sign seen.

Hate it, get it banned.

Better if a player goes to a child without a sign and gives them a shirt. Off the cuff you might say
