So we should never play barnes again Incase he gets injured?

Given that he started on Saturday, has not long returned from injury and his absence causes Rodgers to completely abandon his preferred system in favour of one we routinely look absolutely shit in, we should maybe think twice about playing him against Stockport County in the second round of the Carabao Cup

I’m glad we’re playing a decent strength side. Winning breeds winning. Hopefully we’ll smash them and enjoy the feeling of scoring a few goals

He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't though.

He puts out a team of seasoned pro's to secure the win and then he isn't promoting youth.

Puts out a team of a few u23's and we lose, this place would explode we havn't made it thru to the next stage.

Personally would have liked to see a few more youngsters on the bench and gave them some mins.

In a league cup game against low league opponents, no we definitely shouldn’t play him. He is key to us being able to have any sort of tactical flexibility since we seem to be allergic to buying any other quality wide players. We can win the game without him, would have been a great opportunity for Maswanhise, for example.

He lost training and games following his knock. He needs game time.

What is Barnes doing in there… unforgivable if he gets injured

Well he needs to play to enable us to play a back four when he's totally ignoring players performing in the U21's. Not sure why Wright is still here as he's proved more than able against League 1 teams nevermind League 2.

We need to get of BR's back its not helping anything. Let's get behind him and the team.

Rodgers is such a coward. Doesn't even back us to beat League Two relegation fodder opposition whilst also giving a few kids a chance.

What are we gonna learn about Tieleman's, Barnes, etc against Stockport FFS?

He should be able to beat these with our under 9s. 😒

A perfect opportunity to show how good players like braybrooke or mashwinise are to get them a loan and we fill the bench with superstars because we can’t trust the 11. Utterly bizarre

even in the championship we’d pull in a few youngsters for a lower league game

I also second everyone saying Barnes better not get injured in this nothing game. He's making a habit of over playing players not long back from injury to save his own skin.

Yeah like Southampton, like Brentford, let’s risk not building momentum to flex on a lower league team. :frusty:

Why is he risking Barnes when he’s just returned from injury. Brain dead decision

Because hes the most irresponsible manager in the league when it comes to player welfare and he knows hes under serious pressure
