Leicester City have ‘signalled interest’ in signing – Club ‘trying everything’ to sell player
By Naveen Ullal -25th August 2022

Leicester City could come to Schalke’s rescue in their efforts to get rid of Amine Harit before the transfer window closes.

The forward earns €5.5m per year and has two years left on his contract. Bild state the German club want to make €10m from his sale. So far, they have not managed to offload him and still have ‘the €21m problem’ to resolve.

Marseille and Galatasaray are not willing to buy the 25-year-old because these two sides find the price to be a ‘deterrent’.

Meanwhile, Schalke and their sporting director, Rouven Schröder, are ‘trying everything to sell’ him, including giving a severance payment to Harit. On the other hand, the attacker has refused to take a pay cut.

Leicester are tagged as the report states a new track is leading to the Foxes, who have picked up only one point from three games. After a poor start in the league, Brendan Rodgers’ side have ‘signalled their interest’ in Harit.

With Schalke keen to sell the Morocco international, it needs to be seen whether Leicester can convert their interest into a firm offer to sign him.

The player spent last season on loan at Marseille, managing five goals and four assists from 34 matches in all competitions.

Leicester City could solve a couple of problems, should they complete the signing of Schalke star Amine Harit, who they have shown an interest in.

Leicester have been one of the quieter sides in the Premier League during the summer transfer window. Indeed, the Foxes have brought in just one player: Alex Smithies.

They have not started the season in the best form. The King Power outfit currently sit 19th in the Premier League, after picking up one point from three games.

Recruiting a fresh face or two might help them to get out of the tough spot they find themselves in.

German outlet Bild reports that Leicester have ‘signalled their interest’ in Schalke midfielder Harit.

Not only might that help the Foxes out, it could also take a weight off Schalke. The report states the German side want to ‘remove’ Harit from their payroll, given financial troubles.

He spent last season on loan at Marseille, which offered Schalke a shirt-term fix. The report states they were hoping the Ligue 1 side would take him off their hands, but they are not willing to spend the required sum.

As such, Schalke will hope that Leicester are indeed keen on taking Harit on board.

He will apparently cost around €10million (£8.5million). That should not be a problem to the Foxes, who have spent nothing so far this window.

As such, they may be able to help Schalke out of their predicament, and end up with a decent player, too.

Harit could add to Leicester quality
Adding Harit into the Leicester side could add to the quality that they already have. Indeed, the Morocco international contributed to eight goals last season, and has twice contributed to 10 league goals during a season in his career.

Given Leicester to finish off games this season – losing a two-goal lead against Brentford, and then drawing the next two Premier League games – adding another player with attacking talent may not be a bad plan.

Indeed, failing to score against Stockport County after 26 shots also shows the need for more quality.

Another reason for Harit seeming a good signing is the form of James Maddison. While the two might not play in the same side, given they operate in the same area, Leicester will want to give him support.

They will also not want a drop-off in quality when he does not play. There is also a chance that he leaves for a bigger side at some point, given he has performed consistently for a few seasons.

Having a ready-made replacement in the side will be a bonus if that does happen.

Starting to hate that comma, need a walk outside

I know what you mean.

So far this year, we haven't won a game, our manager is on the verge of the sack, we've sold our captain, we may lose two of our best players, it's possible we won't sign anyone, we have players not showing up for training, we just scraped through a cup game against a league two team and all three of our kits are garbage yet that comma is still the worst part of the season so far!

Maybe it's spelt wrong and the OP meant coma?

Nope copied and pasted from the story and accidently picked up the comma.

My sincere apologies my whip is out and I'm punishing myself.
