Once we get the Fofana money it will be like, you get a contract, you get a contract, you get a loan. We'll show you the money!.

Once the window closes is that it or do loans and free agents get extra time?

I'll be shocked if we sign anyone decent, even more so if they go straight into the starting 11.

Think we'll prob get a token loan (maybe even two!!).

This summer has been a disgrace and I level that quite firmly at the club.

I can understand they didn't want Rodgers having any say or input - quite rightly he's not been backed, looked at the shit that's been signed during his tenure whether that be 'his' recruitment staff or his decision personally, question who and how many he's signed that have improved the starting 11 - you could probably go as far as the same question regarding squad.

But there leads me to the choice i've said the club had at the end of last season/all summer - Sack Rodgers or Back Rodgers - They chose to do neither.

Yes, I blame, lambast and am disgusted by the football under Rodgers but the club, the powers that be are becoming as culpable (maybe more so?) than Rodgers.

I feel people have been very patient with Rodgers, very patient indeed, the club need to be very careful because the shift is highlighting towards them and I think people's frustrations will bypass Rodgers and the club/powers that be will come under more scrutiny.

What I don’t get is, why did Top say we need a refresh but then we have done nothing to render this possible, like early in the window selling or loaning plenty of players ?

I now doubt that I read that it was Top who said a refresh (as well as Rodgers) - did I dream that? If it was just Rodgers, then maybe it is just preventing further dodgy transfers, but then why the future of the club and not sack him?

Feels worryingly like complacency

Ross barkley on a free anyone? 😒🤔

Only if Praet and Tielemans both go and he can come in on realistic wages. There’s a player in there but he needs a kick up the backside.

I think Top wrote about it in one of his programme notes about it being an interesting window coming up.

Sadly he got it wrong because its been absolutely dreadful and boring from our perspective.

I don't remember Top saying anything about a refresh in fairness.

I do seem to remember Top making some kind of statement about a week or two before the start of the season but I hold my hands up and admit I didn't read/not sure what he actually said - I seem to think it was something along the lines of we need to get players out but we will be make transfers.

If Fofana’s deal goes through then we need a replacement. The idea of having Cags, Amartey and Evans as our only centre backs all season gives me nightmares.

Genuinely think I’d rather spend some of the Fofana money on paying Rodgers off and having a fresh manager and coaching team

come in to get the best out of this group of players, who, in my opinion, have the talent to comfortably finish mid-table.

I’d sooner we did that, than attempt to loan a few lightweight wingers.

Rodgers won't cost £70mil to pay off.

If we're getting £70mil+ in and losing 2 of our best players and genuinely not signing another player while the likes of West Ham, Wolves, Leeds, Newcastle, Nottm Forest and potentially Southampton and Everton (if they sign some of the players they are linked with by Thursday) have all spent £100mil+ in incomings this summer, then we are going to be left behind very quickly.

If it was any other club and any other board who hadn't had the success here several years ago, our fans would be protesting outside the stadium right now. If we're not getting at least a good centre back in then we're going to be left behind by those clubs around us.

Then there’s the question do we let it slide due to our recent success and how much owners have done for us or is it unacceptable still
