Based on what I've heard, we won't be signing anyone good nor for any money.

We're ****ed if this is the case. The blame will be landed on Rodgers but if this is the case then it really shouldn't land on him given he doesn't manage the finances.

Sounds like Top and the Board are prepared to accept relegation this season if that's the case and would confirm our worst suspicions about the true financial position of the club.

Top reckons we can finish top 8. I presume he means in the Championship next season.

Or maybe he feels the current squad are under performing, in which case he needs to change the manager and bring In someone who can reinvigorate the group

Bet the club are absolutely delighted we are playing on Thursday, a built in excuse for no deadline day drama!

Sell one of our best players and the captain, don't replace then blame the manager for under performing. Yeah that's the managers fault.

Said for a while I don't think we'll sign anyone and even if we do, it'll be no-one of note.

Clearly that story that the club gave to Dorsett is mostly bollocks and the version of events the club would like everyone to believe because we must be seriously ****ed if we're effectively gambling on staying up by not investing in better players. The top brass must sense that relegation is at least a possibility, surely?

But surely, even if the club's finances are a total mess, then staying up is the best way to improve them? Even 'only' £10-20m on a decent CB right now could make the difference.

Agreed that's why none of this makes sense - think we can safely say the next 3 days will define the immediate future of the club!

1) We need

a top quality centre back

a squad centre back

a rhs attacker

2) we need to still lose

Vestergaard

Perez

assuming Fofana has gone

step one 1 then step 2 to ensure wages are freed up by Thursday

Putting on my tinfoil hat for this but...

As soon as it was announced that Ward would be our number 1 this season I've been of the opinion that the club are happy to write this season off & begin a proper re-build next summer when contracts expire etc. They are gambling on us having a strong enough starting 11 to stay in the league imo. They're probably hoping Rodgers will walk before they have to sack him as well & a new manager can start fresh next year with funds.

I don't think any of the Fofana money will be spent this summer as the recruitment team looks to be in a mess tbh, we haven't even got Congertons replacement in place yet have we?

Rodgers won't care, anyone outside of Leicester will criticise the owners anyway. Regardless of some of the sub-par recruitment that has us in this mess anyway.

The poor performances have been going on for far longer than the first 4 games of this season.

This is a big gamble because Rodgers doesn’t look like he will walk, it’s going to take the owners to force this issue and get him sacked.

I predict the next 72 hours will consist of:

- Hot air over substance in Leicester transfer news

- United 3 nil win on Thursday

- Brendan still in a job

Incredible if true. No longer in safe hands it seems.

We have space for two with Fofana leaving, Ricardo and Bertrand both out injured so no registration there.

The following leave on a free next year so don’t register some of them. The thought that we have to adhere to FFP right now is a joke. We’re going down with this squad.

Last year of contract

Soyuncu

Amartey

Evans

Bertrand

Mendy

Tielemans

Perez

If this is true then we are absolutely ****ed, you cannot lose a prem starting calibre CB and GK and not replace them and expect to stay up, especially when we struggled to defend WITH those players. This is an absolutely ridiculous gamble, especially when they are pushing ahead with the stadium expansion, something doesn't add up.

Personally my main concern is that if either of the following happen, I think we'll go down:

  • Fofana is sold and we don't sign another CB
  • Brendan stays in post beyond Christmas

Even the most optimistic City fan wouldnt expect us to sell our captain/goalkeeper and best defender and finish anywhere near the Top 10 let alone, top 8.
