fair enough. Not sure i agree but each to their own.

Look as with everything, it's not all their fans, i'm friends with a fair few.

But A LOT have been very vocal on socials about what they will do this weekend.

Did you see West Ham last night. Completely respectful and exactly how it should be done.  Why would others be any different?

I think the second sentance in my quote sort of sums up what i'm getting at, the few ruining it for the many. I just meant there is absolutely ZERO chance of something going wrong at Rugby.

What would have they done then? Tearing photos of the Queen inside the stadium? Booing the moment of silence? Who cares?

Sad that more people are probably talking about football not being on than they are about the Queen.

This is the football section of the forum. They're talking about the Queen at the appropriate thread in general chat.

They should cancel all season then. Because all these I've mentioned can happen in the next fixtures. Who is going to stop your friends tearing photos of the Queen in the next match?

As i've said, they're covering their arses for the period of official mourning.

There's an official mourning on paper. Millions are going on with their normal lives, jobs and obligations. The way each individual mourns is sacred and personal. You don't need guidance or laws for mourning.

I can't really be bothered to carry on with the same replies.

In my opinion this is a brand/business protection decision made by the premier league, based on chatter online and Liverpool being at home this weekend.

It's very difficult to explain why everything else goes ahead without that sort of reasoning.

Lets not forget the woman who runs our business is one of three leaders on the Premier League decision making board... and she's Irish... she'll probably have some decent knowhow on what might potentially happen.

Like I say, covering their backs for a short two week period, when it's all back to normal there probably wont be minutes silence etc and any unrest will go mostly under the radar.

And I've said to you that if this is the case all these people that running the sport and making decisions are simply out of touch with the reality and the fans. Cancelling grassroots football also is absolutely bonkers, cancelling 7yrs old children football events is criminal. You just put more fuel on their powers while they're destroying every single day the favourite sport of the masses.

Think the football authorities have misread the room on this.

It does seem like they've called it all off because they were scared of being the only ones still going ahead and now the opposite's happened

Sadly it's a completely different fanbase isn't it, no chance it wont be anything other than respectful

Make no mistake, this is absolutely down to Liverpool being at home. Postpone this weekend, then they're away until after the period of mourning.

Might be naive but why Liverpool? Are they known as being against the monarchy? What’s gone on that makes Liverpool likely to cause a scene or whatever? Genuinely curious.

Yes. ‘Scouse not English’ is often trotted out and they usually boo the national anthem
