I disagree with the decision but it really is a great time to get a new manager in and let him have a few weeks before the Forest game.

Mourning.. for a total stranger?? 😂 I guess none of us will be going to work next week if we’re stopping things out of respect? No didnt think so

Now if they created a Bank Holiday, then a lot Brits would pay their respects by getting pissed.

Even more of a ridiculous decision to postpone this weeks fixtures.

It’s almost like they haven’t communicated with other governing bodies to see what decision they were coming too.

Standard PL and FA toss pots making the decisions. Nearly a month with no premier league football then.

Apart from her family and friends is anyone.truley going to be mourning the death of a 96 year old. Its not like she was mowed down by a bus in her prime. She's had a good life.

I don’t think I’ll ever be over the death, I think cancelling the current premier league season will be the best solution for the country

Agreed. Coventry’s results can still stand though and they can still get relegated

Great North Run is on. A middle class sport Hockey is on

Ruby union, rugby league, golf, cricket, Great North Run, hockey, racing and theatres are all on. Somehow football feels the need to show a “mark of respect”.

Bet some football fans would say these sports are being disrespectful during the period..

It just feels like no one can really win from this situation.

I just hope the motives for postponing the matches are good ones.

However, I’m afraid that in contemporary Britain it would not surprise me at all if it WAS about ‘not wanting to offend anyone’

Such is modern day Britain. We are pretty much the most snowflake country on the planet

Premier probably cancelled out of fear of the right wing media, all it takes is an article or two from the Daily Fail & Scum criticising their lack of respect for playing during "a nation in mourning", then old Auntie Beeb & Sly news will follow suit.

Well at least my weekends will be better for the next couple of weeks.  Sorry I can't think like that, I need to have 2 weeks of being miserable and looking down at the ground whilst wearing only black.

If they cancel next week's games too the next fixture in English football is England vs Germany.

That’s fitting, can we sing 🎶 There’s only one Saxe-Coburg 🎶 in the 96th minute please 🙏

I know I’ll be the minority but I’m kinda happy we have something a bit sacred that is more important than football. With the amount of money in the game now and the premier league becoming more similar to an American sport.for them to potentially postpone two gameweeks over the money feels like we’ve still got a bit of tradition
