I fail to see the upside of playing Faes. At this stage we are just preserving his match fitness ahead of a free transfer in the summer and in doing that we block the development of a young player with a high ceilings in Nelson. Faes' defending is erratic, full-bloodied, sometimes successful, sometimes with poor decision making. He is prone to panic and that isn't good for centre halves. 

 

I don't know what the stats are, but the clean sheet % when Faes & Lurch play together must be very low (20% this season). Having 2 poor left backs & Justin last season not helping at all mind.

 

Football aside, he is one of half a dozen players who are part of this arrogant toxicity that hangs over the club like a hangover and an atmosphere that has been stinking the place out for a long time now.

 

One of the few positives to come out of this disastrous Top reign is the academy and Monga & Jakub aside, we are seemingly happy to not develop them into the First team and instead play these bed blockers who have failed here repeatedly and who we have no chance of future sell fees. I am embarrassed by my club at the minute.

I know this won't happen but we need to drop these two clowns and have Okoli and Nelson in from now on.

 

Nelson can offer the ball playing that Vesty does but also has pace. Okoli, although not the greatest naturally gifted footballer, has strength and good attitude. They'd complement each other well. 

 

Thomas needs to be binned as well.

1) He puts all his weight onto the wrong foot, so he lets Yang just ghost past him 

 

2) What annoys me the most, he’s about 40 yards out so no risk of picking up a red but can see us backpedaling, just pick up a yellow and bring him down and break up their play.

 

I know the second point is “anti-football” but Man City and Liverpool do that type of thing, week in, week out.

Didn't do enough to stop their player, he fouls him, we don't concede. Too many mistakes, penalty at Swansea, beaten too easily at Preston, failed to stop the WBA attacker and now yesterday.

He's contracted until 2027, so we'll be holding out for some unrealistic fee instead.

Yes he has every right to do what he did but it shows a startling lack of self awareness to his level of performance against what we expect never mind what he should be expecting from himself.

He didn’t have a bad 45 minutes against Huddersfield though so it’s ok

Okoli is just as much of a liability, he just doesn't have the baggage that Faes has.
