Oh yes. There was only ever going to be one result, and we all knew it.

(If we're talking Selhurst 97)

Yes, fantastic night. And day in London. Properly one of best away days I’ve been to.

I don't get to that many away games so hard to look past being there for the 9-0 against Southampton. Such a surreal experience.

In an attempt to get away from all the talk of our current predicament, I'd like to ask what is everyone's best NON TROPHY related memory. I'm on about specific memories at specific points in a game etc.

I'll start.

Sitting in the kop with my school freinds when Lilian Nalis hit that screamer against Leeds. Absolute cracking goal.

Funniest down to earth after match comment from Micky Adams.” I’m trying to tell Lilian what fluke means in French” We could do with some more humour like that from managers to bring some of these overpaid popinjays down a peg or two!

Two that stick in my memory are the record breaking Vardy goal against Man Utd, amazing run by Fuchs down the right wing. And for some reason the late  Steve Howard bullet header against Leeds in division one, ground went berserk.

The header back across the goal from Matt Elliott for Walsh to power HIS header in against Arsenal was a particular highlight.

We were right behind the goal that day and went utterly barmy

Play-off final against Swindon, when we levelled it at 3 all

...was it Oldfield who had taken the ball into the box, and I was screaming "shoot...shoot" and he was trying to beat another player before burying it!!!

Third goal was Mike Whitlow squaring the ball to Steve Thompson who slotted the equaliser.

It probably doesn't fit with the flow but I have fond memories of Charlton's pasties.

Barnsley’s pies used to be good as well.

One for the oldies. Was anybody at Leicester 5 West Ham 4 in August 1966. I was not at the match but I remember coming in and my dear Dad a Hammers fan saying West Ham scored 4 and just as my face dropped but Leicester scored 5!

Hereford away in League One. So many perfect little memories.

- Taking over the pub in town, except for one Hereford fan drinking alone who gave it large and got bought about ten pints as a mark of respect

- The proper old terrace

-The toilet being a shed with the wall painted black and guttering nailed to the floor

- Oakley's free kick

- Buying some weird deodorant from Morrison's that ended up being a lucky charm over many years (including putting it on before the second leg against Sevilla after finding it up the loft a full 9 years later) lol

- Being bought local cider all day - the perks of being 16, didn't need to buy any rounds. 👀

I'd been going regularly again since the year before and suffering the misery of relegation, but that was the day I truly fell back in love with Leicester City. Still my favourite away day, and I've been a lot of places here and abroad since. :scarf:

If we do get relegated this season then a lot of fans take comfort from the fact that away days are generally more fun and genuine in the EFL than those on offer in the Prem.!

Marcus Bent wasn't it?

Oddly enough, we played Portsmouth away the year before and won two nil during an absolute monsoon.

You are right it was Marcus and yes the year before was a 2 0 win in a total monsoon. Wasn't there talk of it being abandoned in the 2nd half.?

Winning 2-1 away at Liverpool in 1981. This was an incredible win at the time.

Then I had the pleasure of going into school the following Monday being all smug with the plastic Liverpool fans. It was an odd experience having teachers ask me about the game.

Was that the Boxing Day fixture?
