Dear LCFC board,

I am sorry that it has reached the point where I feel that this email is necessary but as a season ticket holder for the last 18 years I have followed the club through our lowest points but have never felt so little hope for the future of the club.

The results on the pitch have been dire for the last 12 months with the core of a squad that finished 5th twice and 8th last season. In mine and the majority of fans that I have spoken to’s opinion this is down to a couple of different factors. The first is due to the manager constantly talking down the club. This started with small comments such as fans  shouldn’t expect to compete with the “big 6” clubs due to financial constraints, then this moved on to not only the “big 6” but to include other clubs such as wolves, Aston Villa and Newcastle as well and constantly lowering expectations of the fans and not allowing them to be fearless and dream. The tip on the iceberg of this behaviour is when Brendan Rodgers claimed that the club was “just happy to stay in the league” before he turned up when this was blatantly not true as previously we had won the league and got to the quarter final of the champions league.

The second reason is Brendan Rodgers is demotivating the players by constantly talking them down and shifting the blame to fans, the board for not investing in the squad and players for not carrying out his plan properly and refusing to take any responsibility for his tactics or have a plan B for when plan A is not working. This was particularly shown when it took Rodgers 3 months longer than everyone else to even admit that we had a problem with defending set pieces that needed fixing and his refusal to use players that he has signed even when it is clear something needs changing.

The third reason is the baffling substitutions that he makes during games taking players that are playing well off the pitch to bring on players that have made multiple mistakes during the season that have lead to goals. This was particularly shown in the first game of the season where he only used one substitution out of a 5 available and then blamed the collapse in the game on the players being fatigued when he had a possible 4 other subs to use to freshen the team up.

For these above reasons and others I find it baffling that the club is yet to fire Brendan Rodgers and replace him with somebody who can organise a defence and motivate the team.

I have included some links to the fan forum to show how me and a lot of other fans feel about the current situation at the club.

I’m sorry to say that if this situation is not corrected soon the atmosphere around the club and at games will turn completely toxic and ruin the match day experience for fans and families.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to your detailed response

Thank you

I can predict that you won’t receive a response which sadly doesn’t reflect the effort put into it (irrespective of content)

Yes I know it was more a way of me getting my frustrations out there than anything a way to vent unfortunately I do but they will even read it

I get where you're coming from but you can't say that witnessing us getting relegated against Stoke and getting relegated to League 1 (without a crystal ball) there is less hope!

Hope is everything we have.

If we get rid of Rodgers then we could still be pushing for Europe, that's how good our squad is.  Not to mention a new blah blah training ground and stadium expansion.

If we keep Rodgers we will scrape safety probably. It's still better hope than playing 3 leagues below but utterly awful and he should be sacked tomorrow.

Point I'm making is that letters need to be written from facts not the heart.

People need to start making their feelings known at games

It's as simple as that

Time for our fan base to grow a pair

I think the only way to force this is for as many fans as possible to boycott the Palace game but they won't and that's fair enough, people pay a lot for those tickets but a shite attendance would send a loud message.

I think the fans expressing there discontent throughout the game rather than just the end would be better/ more likely to happen than not turning up

"no hope" and can't see a future yet in the next paragraph talk about finishing 5th and 8th in the top flight.

Sometimes you just need a reality check.

Can you add on a PS on so they can take some of the players away too, starting with Ward. Maybe we start with number 1 and work our way down the squad number list. That's at least Ward, Justin, Bertrand, Barnes.

Yes we did finish 5th and 8th in the past I don't see it happening now that's the point. Also I said the current direction gives me know hope not there is no hope

Of course we won't. Our next 5th / 8th place finish will be in the Championship.

There is no current direction board down to manager. The whole club. Players take responsibility too, of course, just because they finished 5th and 8th doesn't mean they do it again. A lot of them far to inconsistent and not good enough.

Must admit to agreeing with rogers substitutes. He brought on Perez and amartywho have added nothing to the team when albrighton and ianachu at least get stuck in. Can’t understand his thinking. We’ve got a six foot whatever centre back who can’t get a game because rogers says he’s not attacking enough. He’s a defender ,that’s what we need at the moment. Frustrated watching so many give so much and get nothing. Can’t defend the manager even though some think he’s the messiah.

This.

Not to mention we went into ****ing administration.

I get the point that we are undoing a hell of a lot of good work but get real.
