We got 7 points from the last 4, comparing to 1 in the first 7. Great improvements.

But we have to look at the fixtures.

H D Brentford

A L Arsenal

H L Soton

A L Chelsea

H L Man Utd

A L Brighton

A L Spurs

H W Forest

A L Bournemouth

H D Crystal Palace

H W Leeds

————

the recent run is more due to a easy run of fixture recently, and the poor run earlier was more due to touch fixtures earlier.

we could only win at home against Minnow teams (20th, 17th), draw mid table/bottom teams at home occasionally, and lose every matches away from home. We are going to

play 3Away games and at home vs Man city before the wc. doesnt look good.

Forest - Decent but abject opposition

Bournemouth - Disgrace

Palace - Mediocre at best against very unambitious opposition

Leeds - Not great but abject opposition

And the facts are if you're going to serve up 1 point from the first 7 then you can't go taking the lower offer on this run of games. That was the only game before the World Cup of the five that we'd go into as bookies favourites. We delivered but we're not likely to win many of our next four - if any.

The main positive I'll say is that we're looking a little less porous at the back. Faes has had an impact.

What these past four games have shown me is that there are some very poor teams in this league and a new manager could come in and get us out of this position quite comfortably.

And we can only win at home against bottom teams (17th Leeds, 20th Forest).

Cannot even defeat Bournemouth away from home at one goal down.

The issue is that we lost every matches away from home, and we are going to play 3 Away games in 4. The one at home is against Man city! LoL

We would be lucky to win 3 points out of 12,

absolutely. I will be glad if we can defeat middle/bottom tier teams away from home but it is just home matches against 2 bottom teams and against a team which went for 1 point.

I would say the recently opponents cannot expose Ward and the backline, while the previous ones that r obviously stronger gave them a lot of pressure.

We are dissatisfying at home (2W 2D 2L), but we are calamitous away from home (5L).

So I think we will be lucky to win 2 points out of the next 12.

I think had we played Forest and won 4-0 first game we wouldn't be in this shit.

Also, if we had hung on against to win against Brentford on the first game of the season. For the first 60 minutes of that game we looked decent! That capitulation had quite a big knock-on effect.

Or maybe it is just that Forest and Leeds(away)r so shit. After we defeated Forest we immediately lost to Bournemouth

The backline just couldnt handle strong offence.

I think people over rated other teams, take away 7-8 teams the league is pretty average.

The disruption cause be the Fofana saga hasn't helped, combined with the loss of a Kasper.

We could have just as easily beaten Southampton, Brentford and got something a Chelsea and be mid-table.

I'm pleased with three home games without losing or without conceding.

However Leeds and Forest were both terrible. Not sure who was worse.

Palace weren't great and any decent side would've beaten them. Same applies to Bournemouth, Southampton and Brentford.

Should've got a point at Spurs, Chelsea and Man Utd at the very least. All big names but all three were ordinary on the day.

I can accept defeat to Brighton on the day, although it'd be obviously different playing them now.

Arsenal were far better than us.

We should now be getting something from Molinuex on Sunday, starting with a clean sheet.

We seem to roll over lamely when playing one of the top sides. As if we have accepted defeat before we kick-off. Lack of "gung-ho" and "we´ll show these f.....s".... a mentality issue maybe?

I personally think the Fofana situation is what rocked us more than the actual game.  He created a negative energy around the place which I think was hard for us to shake off. If that had been wrapped up before the season started... things could have been marginally better.  (I still think we'd be in the dirt, because of Brendan... but we would probably not be sat in the relegation zone.

That is why I really liked the old transfer window. But yet again... the big clubs got their way.

The EOS will call how good, decent, fortunate period this was.

Trying to asses now..:dunno:

38 games is the season, let's see what periods we peak & trough in...

Players, a game at a time, then time to look back & relax, call the moments can only be EOS. What we enjoy immediately are the 3pts.Nomore.

If we are as bad as you and many others have been stating all season, then a win over Wolves, is not a 'should'  but surely an

' overachievement'..:P

If we hadn't blown leads, we wouldn't be in trouble, so it's welcome that we have started to tighten up at the back over recent games.

I'll reserve judgement until we've played the next 4 games up to the World Cup, not that I expect anything from Man C but we need to take a minimum of 5 points from Wolves, Everton and West Ham.

Momentum is everything as we saw when we won the league. Had we won the Brentford game and the Southampton game both which we managed to throw away our start to the season would look totally different.  Slim margins.

This.

We’ve secured points against teams with zero ambition to get at us in Palace and Leeds. Who let’s face it were an embarrassing excuse for a FPL team. If forest had a striker who could have hit a barn door that result would have also been different.

Teams that show any inclination to get at us, be aggressive and press, we fold.

For me it’s not about comparing the severity of fixtures, whether we’ve improved at the back, whether we score ‘the best team goal this season’ ‘we’ve turned a corner’ or whatever overused footballing phrase that is thrown out there.

The pattern is the same. A change is needed. And quickly.

Personally I'm cautiously optimistic atm, l feel like Rodgers just may have realised he's been taking a knife to a gunfight and might have suddenly got a bit streetwise.

I'm happy to win ugly atm and my criticism of him is on hold due to the  sudden defensive upturn which l think is encouraging.

However if he benches Praet again and plays Madders on the right, my optimistic outlook may be strangled at birth!
