I look forward to the same leglislation being applied to horse racing, rugby union, concerts, music festivals etc...

You're not suggesting that people take drugs in other places and get away with it?

Well it absolutely should be applied to all those youve listed, and I'm all in favour of banning orders for people who have been taking or supplying  class A drugs, and have entered the places that these events take place.  I've seen some absolute states down the City in recent seasons! I know the come back will probably be that people go to these sports pissed out of their heads, but again, if someone is so obviously pissed in such a way, they should be turned away at the gate too.

Looks like a class war

Class isn't an excuse for acting like a complete ****.

I think the point was that, yet again, football's being singled out when the reality is coked-up prats are causing misery elsewhere and will be treated more leniently.

It is when they're only targeting working class idiots and not toff idiots.

Don't know why football clubs are making it easier for fans not to be allowed to go, imagine if prisons started saying you're banned from going to prison for 10 years if you take drugs in them. They are doing long suffering fans a favour here.

Football, on this occasion, deserves to be singled out.

I question why anyone who isn't doing class A drugs at the football would be anything other than happy with this.

Liverpool fans are apparently always the victim, well so are the working class.

Little picks doing coke at footy are willy pullers and the sooner they are dealt with the better.

Country is full of entitlement and bad attitude.

I'm sorry but I've seen kids on gear ruin other people's good times away from football plenty of times.

I'm not making a judgement on whether the punishment fits the crime, all I'm asking is why it is not going to be applied equally to other leisure pursuits when that behaviour also pervades elsewhere.

Targeting football fans. Where have we heard that before?

Should be applied to all sporting events.

Have been some big issues at racecourses over the last few years (not counting covid).

Scraps etc. Drugs rife, plenty of evidence of discarded bags, having to deal with people who are clearly wired.

I have seen amnesty boxes for people to chuck them.in, and dogs being used. The dogs do work, I have seen people pulled to one side and escorted away.

be nice to see it applied to the house of commons considering they don't think drug use has a place in society.

I won't hold my breath.

I'm surprised that you consider football exclusively working class at these prices. Like all of these things, if you do it and get caught don't whine. Scum behaviour in football grounds, if we look at it honestly and objectively and not with any political head on has undeniably been on the increase again over the last few years. Such actions will not in any way effect 99% of supporters so why worry about it.

If they did bring it in, and I don't know how you'd practically police such a thing, those that do get caught and banned are of no loss whatsoever, there's plenty of other people to take their place.

Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I wouldn't consider the absolute wastemen who come to the footy at £30+ a ticket, turn up in £200 stone island puffa jackets and proceed to spend half the game in the stalls sniffing gear that's more expensive per line than the pisswater beer we sell... working class. Some of these roadmen spend more on getting wired on a Saturday than I earn in a month. lol

Regardless of whether the targetting of football fans leaves a sour taste, there's no denying it's a real problem on the terraces and rooting cokeheads out would be welcome to most.

Good. It is only a very small minority of nob heads that think it's OK to enter a football stadium coked up or actually take them in the stadium but it's good that something will hopefully be done about it. As others have said though these issues aren't exclusive to just football and its a wider societal issue, especially in people aged between 16 and 30. Just don't understand why people would even consider taking drugs it's just odd. I know I probably sound like a miserable old man and I am to be fair, I'm a miserable 36 year old man who hates everyone and everything 🤣
