Also interesting that our spine today was Ward, Faes, Soumare, Daka, when Evans, N’didi and Vardy were fit and available.

We have evolved, and, it would seem emerged into a new phase.

Fair play to Brendan, he said the squad needed "freshening up this summer"...and he has done this with just one significant signing

That's lovely - the little touch for the 1-2 in the buildup, smashing finish - and I thought that new lad Barr-Nez looked mustard

Dakas assist was cleary a scuffed shot though!

Absolutely brilliant win.

My first time at the London Stadium and - bloody hell - that place is not a football ground. Aside from from the fact it’s a massive financial con and they shouldn’t be playing there, it is a shite place for football. It’s a running track that they’ve slapped a football pitch in the middle. It doesn’t work.

West Ham fans agree with you

do the fans chant his name?

Not as a total entity but various groupings did make an effort. From my position I'd describe the Supporters response as "generous applause".

We have now won 5 out of 8 after no wins in 7 - but 6 of the first 7 teams we played are currently in the top half and 7 of the last 8 are in the bottom half. Has the fixture list made our sudden improvement look more extreme?

Perhaps it’s been kind to us in that respect. We may have lost those games regardless (like Man City) so we’ve been able to pick up easier points now that our confidence has picked up again.

No. We lost to a terrible Southampton team, threw a two goal lead away when strolling, and made Spurs and Brighton look like 70s Brazil. We were the problem. Play those fixtures now and I'm sure the outcomes would be so different. I think we will finish top 8 again.

Second to last on Match Of The Day.

So? Liverpool, Man City, a 4-3 game at Spurs, Arsenal the leaders, Newcastle v Chelsea were always going to be ahead of us, the rest are debatable. Our game was hardly a classic.

I posted it so people would know.

Not sure why you are going on the attack.

There was a couple of Brendan Rodger’s blue white army. Like others have said great to see him get applauded at the end and him punching the air, must be a massive confidence boost. I eat my words as I thought it was time for a change a few weeks back, but credit where it’s due, he’s doing ok..

What a day, long day.. People may disagree but I thought that was one of the better grounds in the premier league (apart from the away fans lower and top being so far apart.. but generally alright. However I have to say that was a terrible atmosphere in both home and away end lower tier today. Group of lads tried their best to get it going but never really cottoned on. Top tier sounded decent..

Sh*t journey back as coming out of Stratford was almost at a standstill. But 3 points was all that mattered. Amartey and Faes was decent today and the winning team needs to be kept.. Youri was unlucky with the penalty miss. He could of found the corner more but sometimes you have to admit it was a decent save. But 4 weeks ago we couldn’t have asked for more really. Onto Newcastle which will be a test..

You may be right but it may need a win over Newcastle or Liverpool after the break to be certain.

It is also noticeable that everything was flying in against us in the first block of matches, currently the opposition are missing when we give them chances.

Not the same level of chances and openness on show. Still some misses but not the same deal as first 6 or 6 games
