I’m sure Bertrand’s contract is up at the end of the season… will probably collect the last bean then retire lol

He should be appointed immediately as our chief financial officer. When it comes to making money the man is a genius.

Would that make him 'pure sauce' and '10/10'??

Difficult for a central defender but he's got a remarkably good goalscoring and output. I think he'd step up seamlessly to this level, got such invaluable experience for his age too.

Sorry @Ric Flair, mine was a gentle and I hope premature tease of your Tete appraisal!

Linked with Moussa Dembele from Lyon on a free at end of year.

Not having a good season this year (on fairness, Lyon a shambles) but goal record on the whole is good and worked well with Rodgers at Celtic.

Wouldn't be against this if we shipped out Daka to raise funds to strengthen elsewhere.

Regarding Lewis Ferguson - “€9-10m is a fair figure” – Everton and Leicester midfield target’s agent reveals club’s asking price

https://sportwitness.co.uk/e9-10m-fair-figure-everton-leicester-midfield-targets-agent-reveals-clubs-asking-price/

His agent, Bill McMurdo, speaking to Sport Italia, explained his client’s current situation at Bologna, and alluded to the fact the Italian side aren’t his final stop, with Champions League football his ultimate dream.

As to how much someone like Everton or Leicester would need to pay, he said: “I think a price tag of €9-10m is a fair figure at the moment. He’s extremely happy in Bologna and loves life in Italy. Lewis has a deep belief that he can play in the best leagues in Europe.”

Don't shoot the messenger,  been told we are interested in Marcus Tavernier.

A much better and safer choice
But certainly much more expensive

Having watched a lot of Ferguson through Dons family connections, I was surprised when he left Aberdeen for Bologna specifically but the £2.5mil - £3mil fee that was rumoured was good business and he’d outgrown them.

Ferguson’s best qualities were his physical attributes. He’s powerful, quick, and combative. Breaking out for a top side in Scotland at the age he did you have to be robust and strong on the ball and in the tackle. He has that in bucket loads. He’s also a good dead ball specialist, particularly from the spot - excellent on penalties. He’s good as a 6 or an 8 and gets forward well for with an eye for the final pass and a very decent goal record for CM.

I always felt that physical side of his game got him through a lot of the time. He’s a grafter and was simply too strong for a lot of midfielders in Scotland. Italy was an interesting move precisely because it allows him to play in a league where the midfielders have to be more technical. He’s done better than I expected so far and if he continues to do well over the next season or so he could be worth a punt.

He doesn’t have the same ceiling as a player like Calvin Ramsay who came down to Liverpool, I’d say he’s closer to the likes of Scott McKenna (Forest) and Kenny McLean (Norwich) in ability and potential so could see him becoming a regular at a bottom end PL club. I’d welcome him as an option if he continues to do well after another season or so in Italy but for me it’s too soon for him to move again, and I’d be concerned if he was a main midfield target.

The most exciting player at Aberdeen right now is Duk Lopes. Maverick wide forward and so out-of-character for an SPFL signing it’s brilliant.
