Denmark, Belgium and Netherlands are other key areas. I know Zeno Debast at Anderlecht is one we are very keen on. Hopefully move quick on someone like Debast. I think Burnley will have a real go of it in the Summer, using up Kompany contacts, as they know they've probably only got another year of him before he takes over from Pep

We’ve employed a senior scout for Germany too so guessing this will be a potential for us to look at in detail too?!

lcfc sheff Posted 21 February 2023 Posted 21 February 2023 Right side version of kristiansen needed. Castagne has gone to shit and Ricardo as much as I love him as a player is far too injury prone for us to rely on fully. 2

Europe has always been well covered, its trying to sign players akin to Kristensen rather than players in the top leagues abroad. It always comes down to who becomes avaliable and at what price, so not totally writing off Serie A etc but Glover is all about long term/sustainable interests of the club, less of the Congerton square peg round hole approach. 2 1

After last summer I’m refusing to get excited for a active summer of ins haha.
Dusty Posted 22 February 2023 Posted 22 February 2023 Samed at Lens looks like a good option, good ball winner and reliable in possession. He has a combination of the best traits from all our current defensive midfielders and Lens only bought him for €5m last summer so shouldn’t cost too much I wouldn’t think.
sheffield_fox Posted 22 February 2023 Posted 22 February 2023 Can anyone explain why we seem to be so good at picking out defensive gems? Other than the couple of obvious flops, we've found loads of great defensive players for good prices in recent years. Many of whom significantly increased their value after signing. And why is it that this hasn't translated much to midfield and forward signings? We have made successful signings in these positions, but they've generally been more hit and miss, more expensive and from prominent clubs. Are they scouted differently? Or we have better defensive scouts? I don't know anything beyond FM and genuinely interested how it works at Leicester. Or if anyone even agrees this is a pattern.
Lambert09 Posted 22 February 2023 Posted 22 February 2023 Quite gross that we will be stuck with Vesty and Bertrand for another season. I like to think of them being long term good things... because it appears we've learnt from them and have reverted to our old tried and tested model of scouting.

I’m sure Bertrand’s contract is up at the end of the season… will probably collect the last bean then retire 1

I do not see Tetê being here next season, for one reason or another, but we all can see the difference it makes if the is a competent player out on our right which allows space for other attackers. We also need to address our attackers, and Daka and Vardy are looking like no shows and we need a technical forward capable of linking and holding the ball. For all the good that Nacho does, there is not a full confidence that we can go into a game and rely on him. Next summer's window will set us up for a few years, so we have to get it right. Glover being at the helm will be a blessing for this club.
Haywood_6 Posted 25 February 2023 Posted 25 February 2023 Gabriel Sara is one to watch, starting to come good now. Norwich fans love him.
Shane Posted 28 February 2023 Posted 28 February 2023 We need more players like Kristiansen Anyone who hasn’t got his mentality can get in the bin 1
Nicolo Barella Posted 28 February 2023 Posted 28 February 2023 This will need to be a very busy summer like Palace had when they signed Andersen and Eze, or we are goners

Lesta2014 Posted 1 March 2023 Posted 1 March 2023 Weren’t sure where else to put but Aouar is signing for Frankfurt on a free.
Shane Posted 2 March 2023 Posted 2 March 2023 I think Ahmedhodzic will follow a similar trajectory to Ben White and end up at RB. If Sheff Utd don’t go up I’d sign him as Castagne’s replacement. Covers RB/CB, decent going forward & solid in defence.
