dylanlegend Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 Marsch is a better option than Rafa, MoN and others mentioned. He did well at Leeds to start with and kept them ip, his signings were decent also. 3

The Doctor Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 it's obviously not going to be an interim position, he turned that deal down at Southampton a couple of months ago, bare minimum it'd be until the end of 23/24 season.
SK3Blue Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 If its Marsch, I'm done. I'd rather go and watch non league. 1
Guest Lako42 Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 I actually think he's the kind of manager our players needs. Shame they are ALL too unfit to actually play his style. We'll be absolutely ****ed after 30 minutes.

kingkisnorbo Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 One minor plus is that he seems to be someone is arsed about the fans which is good. 1 1

Would be so dumb to give a Manager anything more than an interim role right now. We are such a mess and a huge rebuild is needed in the summer (with limited funds), and we cannot get that Manager's appointment wrong. I feel we will have much better options than Marsch come the summer (if we stay up!)

Ric Flair Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 It's absolutely staggering that the board think these two can lead us to safety for the rest of the season. It's 10 games they'd be in charge, over a quarter of a season, what on earth are they doing!!! 2 1
fox_favourite Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 I’m not a fan of Marsch being appointed. Didn’t really revolutionised Leeds, wasn’t unlucky and wasn’t surprised he was sacked at the time. It’s got meh written all over it. 1
westernpark Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 I’ve always wanted to learn more about American Culture.

If you want to dismiss that immediate improvement after they sacked Marsch then more power to you. And you’re right, Potter has never been a particularly good manager. He still did far better with Brighton last season than Marsch did with Leeds this season though. Some heads well and truly in the sand on here. Well is it an immediate improvement? I don't know, I don't watch you but i often follow fixtures over form and Forest (H) , Wolves (A), Southampton (H) are very winnable games for all of us in the last 8 places, even we got 2 wins out of those 3 and we're shit lad. Honesty wouldn't get your hopes up.

In terms of achievements, you can't even compare Rafa and Marsch (although they are obvs are different stages in their careers). But i really struggle to understand how anyone thinks he did well at Leeds. They got massively lucky last season and he was doggo there this season. 4

Haywood_6 Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 I think a lot of people dislike Marsch because he's American, which is just strange to me. I quite like listening to him. He'll be much more refreshing than Rodgers, he's intelligent, passionate and he's got a good energy about him. The damage has been done this season, let's be honest about it. It's a tough job for anyone with 9 games left. There's not a lot of options out there right now, so if it's him. It's him. I'll give him a chance and get behind the guy. 1
USMNT Matt Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 2 hours ago, BielsaIsGod said: He got more time than he deserved and got all the players he asked for bought for him and still we got worse week on week. He got every break going. We had to endure his terrible football week after week. it never improved, problems were never fixed, he rarely had any ideas at all. Even the training got worse as our fitness slumped. He prattled on game after game about taking the pressure off the players when in reality he was projecting and imposing his own insecurities onto them. He is genuinely the worst manager we’ve had in my living memory (and I’ve been going to Elland Road since 1980 so I’ve seen some). Red Bull sussed him out and fired him, it’s incredible our board gave him aa chance and then stuck with him until it was almost too late. Best of luck if you do hire him - it would be one of the more stupid things your club has done in its recent history - generally, apart from underinvesting in refreshing an aging squad, I thought Leicester City tended to run itself quite well in recent years. Sorry but that's total BS. The Leeds team sucked before he came in and were facing relegation to The Skybet Championship. He came in, told everyone to step back and steered the ship to safety. Did your precious Bielsa do that? Fat chance. I work in data analysis in football and LUFC was hitting all of the key underlying numbers under his control. The board just crapped their pants. Where was Gnonto before Jesse's impact? And Adams? He turned down a top 4 club to go to Leeds and they repaid him by sacking him as soon as pressure mounted. But what's new, he's American. 4

Shambles. Absolutely this. Imagine who we could have at earlier points this season, or even before that. This appointment is bottom of the barrel stuff.

An attitude that filtered through to even our best players.
Dahnsouff Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 When you are down in the mud, all you find is dirt. Just whoever it is, let me them be a different persona to Rodgers, let them swear, let them rage and scream.
jonny_wright Posted 7 April 2023 Posted 7 April 2023 Rather we kept rodgers than marsch, staggering if true 1

I don’t really have much more of a point. Possibly my point is that grits are not a proper breakfast - or even a food - but maybe my point is that USA large portions are immense so maybe Jesse will supersize our season? Also, I doubt I have a point.
