Will be interesting to see what Maresca does about the perceived problems with Seagrave.

Some thoughts here on the Seagrave effect, what it means for the association between the club and the city it represents, and how the club needs to change off the pitch as well as on it:

The Fosse Way - A new era and a chance for Leicester City to rediscover local pride

I hope he does address the concerns. But it needs to be a collective effort, and not just Maresca. There's a responsibility on everyone's shoulders to make it a pleasant environment and not an isolated one. That starts from the very top and for it to work its way down to the players and staff. Everyone needs to buy into a) how good a facility it is perceived to be and b) actually take advantage of how good it is by working together, not having cliques or separations.

When we won the league, and the Championship before, everyone at the club always spoke of how much of a 'brotherhood' it was and how great it was to be part of a team. Apart from the clichés we've heard this past season whenever we lost, how many times did we hear of a genuine feel of a team or everyone pulling in the same direction?

Agreed it has to be. But when the going gets tough, and I think at times, there are going to be obstacles this season - the club has tendency to go into full tortoise mode and hide themselves. Then it's all up to the manager to be the only vocal figurehead of the club. Maresca's job will be just as much about people management as it will about football management. It's important for him to come across a good guy trying his hardest and the fans will give more patience.

Personally I hope he doesn’t address the issues as that would mean we are still reflecting from last season. Enzo needs to be complete refresh, hitting that reset button.

If done properly the training ground shouldn’t even be discussed as then it’ll be doing it’s job and used properly.

It like a resort, one of those places where you go for a 2day break to relax and unwind.

Get pampered with all the body treatments on offer then play golf in luxury surroundings and enjoy food at world restaurants.

They need to get back to basics.....

I would make the team watch Rocky training montages every day!

Probably why I am not an elite coach.

Thats an excellent article, I agree with a lot of it.

How much does this cost to run a year?

How are we gonna continually do it in the Championship if it’s millions? Sell players to keep it going?

Move the women's team in and attribute some costs to them. Academy will be paying a share in psr terms. But yes its going to become an albatross

We didn't need it from the start the old training ground was good enough.

Wasted money spent on it which could have been used on players.

To many luxury things which have made players to soft.

Get them back to the old one where they have to do a honest day's graft in training and go home tired instead of going back like they have had a day at the health spa.

They had to good and easy.

This isn't how FFP works, the money for the training ground isn't taken into account into calculations. We wouldn't be splashing huge amounts of cash if we were at Belvoir. We'd be in the same position.

Also vastly reported Belvoir was becoming increasingly cramped and outdated. We gambled to elevate the facilities, and it hasn't worked out overall.

"Honest days graft"

You really think they aren't putting the hours in at seagrave? It's just a nicer facility to work in.

Seagrave isn’t the problem in my opinion, having state of the art facilities is an absolute positive and in the long term should be a huge part of attracting new players and more importantly in attracting the very best academy prospects.

I still believe our biggest issue over the last 2 years is the number of players who know they are leaving and have mentally checked out of the club, it played a massive part in our relegation last season and I think we are seeing a similar impact now in this second half of the season. I think a fair few had their eye on the January exit door, and when it didn’t happen, motivation levels have most certainly dipped.

I dread to imagine how much time they've spent on that stupid ****ing golf course

I hear they've given Trevor Benjamin and Lee Marshall lifetime memberships to the 18 holes and sauna facilities.

Very much like our new ground was a burden to us for several years until Vichai bought it, this will be gargantuan to run for a sustained period in the EFL.

Considering the allowable losses are only £13m a season, it doesn't bare thinking about. It'll be a ghost town down there.

Never created a topic before, hopefully I dont get shot down, but i'm wondering why we decided to build this world class facility as its been no use so far. Surely the idea was to try build on what we had acheived in recent years, yet we still can't keep our best players, we can't attract better players. If it's to try entice better players to come to the academy, we're talking a number of years to build on that. Seems a waste of money at the minute, even more so if we're relegated.

spot on , went the once and its outstanding , made me think we are a real football based club at last , unlike match day at the kp when i just think ffs all we need is a bouncy castle and some goldfish to win now then we are the joke of english football thanks to whoever wants this garbage , local lads and apprentices we spotted should be still here , harvey top of list 4me but it can all be turned into good at drop of a hat. ps great topic to start hunta.
