Did you watch tonight game half the team ran about like they didnt care or were completely clueless

Which has been the case all season, you think pep’s would be able to get them caring or running about in 8 games

Fair enough Tom, but please don’t call me ‘baby’.

It makes me feel kinda weird..

I've already seen Allardyce getting Leeds running after just 2 games.

Not a surprising result after the Soumare, Tielemans and Ndidi midfield he decided to start and Liverpool's high energy team

It's a difficult one, all our midfield are crap, but you just don't see us pressing the ball. Again we had a high line but gave them loads of space, plus they have bags full of pace, just so poorly thought out

Shocking team selection yet again. I honestly think I could have picked better teams and got more points than this guy. The football is exactly the same!!!

He's achieved nothing.

We need to do the impossible by getting at least a draw at Newcastle, so might as well get someone else in who can do a better job of motivating them.

Go to bed mate

Smith hasn’t done anything really. We needed a manger to provide a bit of energy and give the players a kick up the arse. I don’t doubt he’s a good manager but he wasn’t required in this situation. Easy to say now with hindsight.

I think he gave something away in the jnterview. When asked about our lack of perceived effort he said 'look, we're a foot...' then he corrected himself 'a side with a lot of good footballers who are used to playing in a certain way'. He was saying, basically, that we might not be direct or physical but that doesn't mean we're not trying.

Regardless of whether I believe that a more industrial approach would be better suited to a relegation scrap, I thought it was curious that he was basically saying that a whole load of things which we know can be put down to a lack of effort - say, the midfield tracking before the free kick for their third - are just a matter of us being a side that likes to play pretty football. As if sides don't compete for 50-50s, or press, or track back if they want to keep possession.

Either way, if he feels bound to Rodgers era footballing principles, to Rodgers era formations, even to Rodgers era team leaders, I don't really see why we bothered getting rid of Rodgers. I thought the whole point was for someone to reappraise what we were doing and offer new ideas and impetus, rather than to broadly stick to the pre-existing style, shape and team structure. It wasn't working, and required a violent jolt back to life. Things needed to change overnight. But with Smith I wonder whether that's what we were in the market for.

He’s literally a supply teacher at a secondary school.

Turn up looking smart, tries to control a group of unruly, petulant no hopers and ultimately achieves nothing.

Gets his payday and leaves.

He also went for the Brendan Rodgers 60th minute substitute tonight.

How he could look at the first half at Craven Cottage and thought that required one sub, and then that first half tonight and think it needed no subs at the break, is beyond me.

Those two decisions alone told me he’s not the right guy long-term.

Get Rodgers back for the last 2 games. This is his mess and he deserves the relegation on his CV

Imagine if he kept us up👀

Smith continued with a suicidal midfield formation with no deep central pivot that this team HAS to have. 2 years ago that might’ve been Ndidi but the only realistic option this season and the one Smith has refused to consider throughout his time is Papy Mendy. He had to play in our team as a central deep lying midfielder, the metronome who can cover space, be the ‘water carrier’ and play with a football intelligence that the others simply haven’t got this season. Instead he plays two wider deeper midfielders, both ponderous on the ball, one of which has no place being out on any football pitch at the moment such is his woeful form (Ndidi) and the other (Soumare) hasn’t the discipline, positional sense or consistency of application to cope. The only difference tonight was playing Tielemans in the central attacking midfield role instead of Maddison and he hasn’t got the fitness or any kind of the pace that he would’ve needed in that role. It was an utterly baffling set up after the Fulham shambles and the results predictably were the same.

The general lack of effort throughout the team, considering what was at stake, reflects almost as badly on Smith as it does on the 11 that were an embarrassment to the Leicester City shirt today.
