You can see him signal advantage as Haaland gets back up, them as the ball goes through the Grealish and it's clear he's away and in on goal he blows for the foul. What was going through his head?

Maybe panicked a bit as they’ve been absolutely mullered for the last couple of weeks?

Maybe couldn’t handle the pressure of it.

No real rational explanation for it.

Feel like panicking would have been blowing for the initial foul. He played advantage and then before a Spurs player even touched the ball pulled it back and gave the foul. It's just poor officiating by a poor official.

Appalling refereeing from Hooper. Why did he signal the advantage then change his mind?

Banished to the championship for the rest of the season. Awful.

He must have been spooked or thought there was a buzz from the assistant?

Think he knew he had messed up as none of the City players were booked for dissent .

No thank you. Are there different football rules in Championship?

It's incredible that Howard Webb has made PGMOL even worse than when Riley was in charge. That's some going.

Is it him though?

We've had more transparency and showing"behind the curtain", just the people enforcing it continue to be buffoons.

Is enough time and money spent into official training? With the amount of money spent in premier league football, are we then dedicating enough if it into making sure those who officiate the game are given the right training/fitness to keep up with top level football.

Keith Hackett is always on talksport effectively saying he was great and everyone since is shit and I've always thought what an arrogant cock. But he may have a point.

Worst thing is the dross will come our way. I dread to think how wank the refs are in League 2

Webb is at least making public apologies for the mistakes instead of just acting like they never happened.

But situations like this are where refs need to be interviewed or provide statements to the media after games. I want to hear him explain that, not hide behind Webb.

Why do we have to have English referee's in our leagues? The premier league is supposedly the best league in the world. Why don’t they pay for the best referees in the world to come and officiate premier league games.

the ref's in this country are sodding awful, every week in the prem its the same mistakes

the best ref ive seen in years has been Sam Alisson at the Watford game at the watford home game last saturday;

these mistakes are costing teams massively,

same mistakes and same apologies every week; something needs to be fixed

They tried that with Jared Gillett who looked great in the A-League. He's been abysmal.

Funny thing is some of our fans thought he was rubbish (even though they accepted the red card was right )!

Liverpool will win the league. Best manager, best individual players (Trent, Salah, VVD), they always pull it out of the bag and seem to have found that consistency again. One season too far for MCFC and Arsenal will bottle it as per usual.

It’s definitely more balanced this year in terms of ability.

Haaland hasn’t been as freakish. No coincidence when KDB is out. He’s so underrated and the world thinks he’s great.

Liverpool have found that consistency again. As a unit they are incredible when in full flow.

Arsenal are still lacking in my opinion compared to them, however they are still picking up points.

The gap between Villa / Spurs / Newcastle and the top isn’t t insurmountable. Alex Ferguson always said if you’re within 10 points at Christmas, it was winnable. I can’t really see any of them pushing. They’ll all potentially be in the mix for that 4th spot though.

How Ten Haag is still employed is beyond me.

Chelsea are also starting to improve.

Everton will finish mid table, even with the points deduction. The standard at the bottom end is as good as the top end of the Championship this season.

odd that isnt it, always the way though, but even if you was a neutral youd have to say he was pretty fair and consistent

and he'll be on of the top officials in this country soon, used to play the game, can actually keep up with play and has common sense
