Foxxed Posted 16 June 2023 Posted 16 June 2023 Get some young, cheap and promising players that'll take two seasons in the Championship to get up to speed. Slowly transition them into taking over from Enzo's loan players. Then when we're in the Premier League--even without Enzo and his loan players--we'll have a good young squad, selling players to again finance ourselves. 1

Bluearmyfox28 Posted 17 June 2023 Posted 17 June 2023 I’ve been watching some videos of the Man City development squad this past season. If we can somehow manage to pull of signing 3 from Borges (Permanent), Bobb (Loan), Palmer (loan) or Mebude (Loan) behind any of our existing strikers, then I’m convinced we will be absolutely deadly going forward.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 17 June 2023 Posted 17 June 2023 Personally what I would like to see is: CB - Evans (Extension) CB - Ronnie Edwards (Permanent £8m) CDM - Okay Yokuslu (Permanent £5m) CM - Tom Cairney (Permanent £4m) CM - Gustavo Hamer (Permanent £10m) CAM - Ilias Chair (Permanent £10m) CAM - Oscar Bobb (Loan) RW - Palmer or Mebude (Loan) RW - Tahith Chong (Permanent £4m) LW - Carlos Borges (Permanent £10m) LW - Conor Chaplin (Permanent £5m) ST - Jerry Yates (Permanent £4m) Total spending £60m I know it’s probably completely out of reach but would love for us to add some serious competitive depth to the side and balance the squad completely. 1
Scotch Posted 17 June 2023 Posted 17 June 2023 Would like to see us try and tempt Jan Paul Van Hecke. He has an option to extend at Brighton but also wants to play. Could be a good free transfer but a long shot.

Personally I think a lot of those have a ceiling of championship player at best. Yokuslu, Cairney, Chong, Chaplin and Yates. I think we could aim high and do better. 5 1

Lambert09 Posted 17 June 2023 Posted 17 June 2023 I’d love Hamer but if the cairney reports are true I can’t see us going for another cm.
Ryy Posted 17 June 2023 Posted 17 June 2023 We will 100% sign this guy imo https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrian-bernabe/profil/spieler/466802 2

Popular Post kingfox Posted 17 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 17 June 2023 The fun & work starts now Will break things down into different posts, cba to do it in one as it will take hours. I’ll start with goalkeeping targets, on the basis of Maresca potentially not favouring Iversen... 1) James Trafford Bringing him in on loan would make so much sense with him being a product of Man City. A very successful loan spell at Bolton last season where he captured their Young Player Of The Season award. 88% accurate passes, 80% forward passes, 98% lateral passes. +14.58 for prevented goals(Best in League One), 79.43% for save rate(2nd best in League One) and 2nd for most clean sheets. 2) Nick Olij Arguably the best goalkeeper in the Eredivisie last season for Sparta Rotterdam. Doesn’t play out from the back as often as the others I’ve mentioned, but does have good passing range. 87% accurate passes, 78% forward passes, 98% lateral passes. +9.33 for prevented goals(2nd in Eredivisie), 79.89 for save rate(Best in Eredivisie) and 2nd for most clean sheets. 3) Phillip Kohn RB Salzburg’s current number one, been very impressed with his shot stopping ability over the past two seasons. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in the Bundesliga though. 88% accurate passes, 82% forward passes, 98% lateral passes. Ranks 1st for prevented goals, save rate and clean sheets in the Austrian Bundesliga. Others Might as well mention Zack Steffen as he’s a current product of Man City, wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up getting linked, but I left him out of the top three, as he ranks considerably lower in terms of prevented goals and save rate than the above three. Finally going off Sambiasso’s post regarding us potentially looking at a more experienced goalkeeper, it wouldn’t surprise me if we end up getting linked to Dubravka again. Simon Mignolet is another one who’s name I wouldn’t be surprised to see crop up. 8

Maresca will know him from his stint as assistant to Pellegrini as well. Absolute no brainer pal. Worth noting that the Cairney interest was airing before Maresca took the job, surely he’s now having input into this? Cairney shouldn’t even be getting mentioned if there’s a possibility of a younger alternative IMO.

General Smuts Posted 17 June 2023 Posted 17 June 2023 Steven Sessegnon released by Fulham. Castagne out the door and Ricky P potentially following means we may be in the market for a full back. Only 23 and well capped in the England youth teams.

Like the look of that with the exception of retaining Evans, his injury record is honking and I think we can better invest that portion of the budget on an experienced defender but who is 3/4 years younger. 1
