Where’s the low ball offer coming from? He’s started in 1 Championship win since November and his attitude stinks. No PL team is going to touch him or, I doubt, any club with promotion aspirations. That just leaves clubs who can’t afford him.

The only chance he goes is if we buy out his contract but his agent isn’t going to entertain that unless he’s got somewhere for him to go as a free agent.

Far more likely to go now - we are and are seen in football as being a mess and he has had enough experience to get a move to a championship or maybe a newly promoted prem side. I know he has stunk the place out with his attitude but he still has enough to get a move - hopeful we will get rid of this leech this preseason !

It’s an absolute fire sale of everything and everyone because the financial situation is so bad but you just have a feeling that he isn’t going anywhere. The rot will stay where the rot is

Can't get more low ball than for free, I guess!

he'll go to a London championship club, or a  mid table Spanish club

I really don’t want to see him anywhere near the club next season, I think his ego will not allow him to hang around league one getting bullied week in and week out. I think had we managed to stay up then he would have hung around for the final 12 months of his contract and feathered his nest, I think relegation will see him cut and run albeit for a very minimal fee.

I agree that he'll probably leave one way or the other but I think "bullied week in and week out" flies in the face of him clearly being the best player on the team is many games - even though most fans seem loathe to admit it

The bar is incredibly low. He's the best player on the team at making himself look good.

Winks being the best player on the team is not factual it's down to opinion.

From my point of view he cost us a lot of goals and points last season by letting his man get away from him and is generally too lightweight to play midfield unless the players around him are far better than those on the opponents team.

If you need a superior team to make him look good then what is the point of him in the first place.

I see him as a counter attacking team's dream. All his little flicks and predictable passes allow you to organise the press perfectly. Also, once you get the ball back, you don't have to worry about him. He won't track back for shit. He's probably the worst player we can have in  League 1.

In the EPL he made himself known as a EFL player, opponents often identified him as a weakness, as he just went missing without the ball, and kept losing possession, just not enough quality, but unlike other players no work ethic, strength, height, toughness to compensate.

He will be here forever….. just moping around Seagrave, like that employee who stays in a job they hate for years and just moans about how much they hate it, and that they can’t wait to leave, but never leave.

League 1 midfielders will genuinely be buzzing to get stuck into him.

If Russell Martin has any sense, he'd use binning Winks off straight away as a way to score points with some fans whilst also setting the tone to building some kind of culture

Do you really think it’s as easy as just binning him off
