Rock bottom confidence, much like the rest of our team. Never thought he's as good as Mads, but he's better than he's showing now, everyone is playing terribly though, and I'm sure it's because there's just no belief in the team that we can do anything.

Schmeichel was not the best technical keeper in the world and had a lot of natural ability he relied on heavily

Yeh, and his distribution was shocking for the most part.

Almost all his kicks ended up in the stands.

At least he could keep the ball out of the net though. Yet to see any of Stolarczyk's strengths.

But he did earlier in the season, he was coming for crosses

Another example of the LCFC man management- and see how fast a player can deteriorate

I feel that there is some truth in this.  When he initially came into the team I thought his command of the area and crosses was very good, and the only criticisms were his poor kicking and his tendency to palm saves into dangerous areas (both weaknesses that could have been addressed by a decent coach).

He seems to be regressing week by week now ... I can't help but think his confidence has been affected by the defensive dross in front of him.

He was good when he first came into the team, but his confidence is shot now. You can tell by the way he looks nervously around when he has the ball.
Also, why is he still trying to play short every time? We’re no good at it, we get caught out doing it at least once a game, we were lucky not to concede from it last night. At least go long sometimes to keep the opposition guessing.

Yes basic stuff.

Great keeper but suspect at his near post, All over the place on corners and he did not utilise the great distribution attributes he had.

1 - Parry efforts to the side not back into the danger zone

2 - Learn when to tell your defenders to just get rid of it

3 - Kick Better

All 3 of these can be coached and improved upon and would make him a remarkably better keeper.  Realise the remit from Marti is to play out from the back but as a keeper, he needs to be commanding enough to tell the defenders to get rid.  An instance last night where Okoli was under pressure, he had a man on him and he still offered himself for the pass.  In conditions like that, he should be telling Okoli to put it in the stand and then everyone can regroup.

Just an idea. If Coventry go up and they sign Rushworth that they are hoping. I reckon we should attempt to lure their reserve keeper Dovin. As he will most likely be on the bench and what i saw (only highlights and the occasional game on tele) he is a very promising goalkeeper.

Can't remember what his injury was, which could affect his future.

Cheaper option, young and a Swedish international.

I will just say, yesterday's goal

Deflection which then took the ball into Moore's path. He's stayed big incase Moore gets a touch on the ball and then he's got something on it after it's gone past Moore. All which happened in the space of a second or so.

Was surprised the commentator digged him out, but I think they forget they're watching a replay. Would love to have a keeper on comms so people can get their perspective, it might open a few eyes lol

People seem to just watch a replay and expect the keeper to know what's going to happen.

The bigger crime was that their player was free to run into the box unchallenged.

I think in terms of stats he's fairly middling for the league for saves, dealing with crosses etc. Can't be many clubs that leave players unopposed in the box at the regularity we do.

Id love to be an opposition striker playing against Stolarczyk. Id get me shit midfield mates to just spam shots at him so I can sweep up all these shit parrys. Reckon I could score at least 5.

He also got away with pushing the ball back in to a dangerous area from a fairly routine save not long before the goal

It’s got to be how he’s being coached. Once or twice you can understand it, but for me they’ve got to be telling him something like this.

Even if they didn't want him holding on to shots you think it'd be a case of push it away to the side

I don't want to be that guy but I said months ago he's the worst parry-er of a ball I've ever seen and I don't say that lightly....he simply can't push a ball out of the danger zone. It's baffling!

Just another average keeper, Iversen was another. Schmeichel dominated the position for years and yet the club still fail miserably to find a decent backup.

Our scouting is mediocre, the whole lot need the boot.

He’s been ruined, another player whose confidence is through the floor.

Yeah I'm still thinking this way. The longer he has been involved in the first team the worse he has got. That's a pattern reflected by a worrying number of players over the last half decade or so.

He'd be fine at a functional football club.

For the goal he made a good point blank save.  You weirdos think he should have caught it?

Danny Ward would have been in a different postcode looking at the sky.

Sad thing is, I think a lot of our players would (with the obvious exceptions).

Criticise him in the Ricardo thread then, regardless of what Ricardo did, it's still absolutely terrible from Stolarczyk, he got away with one of his trademark push the ball in to a dangerous area prior to the goal as well.

Ricardo allowed their player to get the wrong side of him and get the cross into a dangerous area that is always going to be difficult for a keeper. Jakub could do better, but Ricardo was pathetic there. Our full backs have been doing this all season, no wonder we can’t keep a clean sheet.

I do think the blame he is getting for the goal is a little strange.

Does a world-class keeper do better? Probably. But he’s not one of those. He’s a decent keeper playing for a mid-table championship side. He made an ok save.

I think you're missing the point, no ones saying it's good defending by anyone else, but it's the Stolarczyk thread and regardless of what happened before it's poor from him.

I think minds have been made up and people are queuing up to stick the boot in where Jakub is concerned.  I think it is misplaced and premature and in this specific case overly harsh.

He has always been highly rated, much more so than Iversen for example.  A bit of a prodigy.  I think he is struggling at the moment but I think playing in this team would test anyone.

I am a harsh critic of many of the highly paid deadbeats shambling around in this team, but I make the distinction between those that are the future and those that have been stringing us along.

I feel that JS will become one of those that people will come around to.  It might take until we have a functional and properly committed squad before we see it, but I also expect to see those that are writing him off as a league one keeper to then be singing his praises and forgetting their inability to see and support talent, albeit talent that is struggling, without any sense of irony.
